Great product but wrong use

I bought this for my drift boat thinking it came with a hose but it doesn’t. For a kayak or something shorter it would work very well.

Fool me once, shame on you

I purchased one of these along with my kayak from my local outfitter. A few days later, I was finally able to take my kayak out and do some open water recoveries and re-entries. On my 3rd round of emptying my cockpit, the pump stops living up to its name (hint: it's pump). Upon further inspection, (after a slow paddle back to shore) I discovered that the inner pump valve mechanism… read more had detached itself from push-rod (?). Fool me once, shame on you. I quite begrudgingly returned to the outfitter and explained to them my plight, at which time they were happy to replace the unit with a new pump of the same model. I strode out of the shop, with my head held high and a new bilge pump in hand... I was set for the upcoming weekend's attempt at open water recovery. A few days later, we push out onto the lake and paddle out. I proceed to successfully perform a wet exit (challenging I know), recovered the 'yak and got back into the cockpit. At this point, I'm balls-deep in lake water and I'm thinking this would be a good time to give a go with the brand new bilge pump. Fool me twice, shame on me. By the third draw, the inner plastic valve mechanism had decided to join it's brethren in defiant revolt, again detaching itself from the shaft. I don't know if I managed to receive two bad pumps from the same batch, or if I somehow don't understand how to operate a linear pump... but I cannot put my safety on the line using a product that has failed me twice.

Great pump!

My friend was paddling in a borrowed kayak and his kayak had a slow leak. I let him use my Harmony bilge pump and it worked great. It's lightweight but very powerful. It pumps out the water in seconds, not minutes. I'm very happy with my Harmony!

Wouldn't get on the river without it

I'm been extremely pleased with my new Harmony bilge pump. It's one of those necessities that you carry but don't think about until you need it. On a recent float down the Duck River we had a boat swamp and I was amazed how quickly I was able to get the water out of his boat and get him back in it. One of the best investments I've made.

does the job

This is a fast pump. Even people who have regular pumps ask to use mine because it pumps while moving up and down.
