NRS Neko Knife Reviews

December 26, 2020I Like It
Knife release procedure is simple and quick. I chose this knife because it looked simpler and safer than release on other NRSs. Grip fits my hand well. The sheath clipped onto my PFD without a problem. I like that the overall length of the knif is the shortest on the market. Because of that, I think it's less likely to snag on things.

For me it always seems like river knives are either bulky, or don’t stay in their sheaths. This knife is low profile (looks great on my Ninja PFD!), and it doesn’t fall out of the sheath! It’s exactly what I want in a river knife. The sheath grabs the knife on the flat part of the knife, not the sides, so it’s way more secure. I did think it was a little hard to pull out… read more of the sheath while holding it, but once I mounted it on the lash tab on my vest, I never have any issue pulling it out. The bottle opener is pretty nice for the take-out too!

May 6, 2020Great sheath to knife relationship.
The interface between the sheath and knife is a great design and improvement over the one I grew up with. The chances of the knife coming out unintentionally is almost impossible. I like the small profile of it, as it less to get in the way on my PFD when doing sea kayak self-rescues or tandem-recues. From a safety standpoint, I like that only one side of the blade is sharp, so… read more I can work confidently without worrying about doing harm to myself. Great knife.

you never know when you are going to need to jump into action to rescue a fellow boater who was silly enough to bring bottled beer instead of cans....the Neko's bottle opening handle will allow you to spring into action, open the beer AND slice off a piece of cheese. After your fellow boaters have stopped cheering your name you will be hard pressed to forget your trusty liberator… read more of cold beverages thanks to the bright green handle.
