Great leash

Yeah, it's a nut tool. The only thing that makes it special is the leash. Works great, and stays out of the way. Never afraid of dropping it, because well you can't.

Best design

A lot of people have nut tools on carabiners but if you drop it when it is off your harness it is gone! You may have a short cord on it but nothing as long as this coiled cord. It is just a big headache you can completely avoid if you just buy this tool as opposed to the others.

Bought it for my second

Liked the snap options and the broad palm end for driving out nuts. Gave as a gift to my son to make his job easier cleaning gear. The lanyard makes it harder to drop and the tool is well made. It paid for itself first time up.

Great, but heavy

I really do like this nut tool, but it’s probably the heaviest one made. It does have a great handle that saves your palm when you need to hammer out the occasional nut that was placed a little too well. The leash is wonderful, but in truth, this is not the nut tool I normally keep on my harness, due to the weight. Every ounce counts and it’s nearly 3 times the weight read more of my BD nut tool.

Still on my rack

Ive continued to use this nut tool exclusively since I last reviewed it, and still absolutely adore it! The leash is a big deal to me. Ive had to clean gear on quite a few multi pitch climbs, where dropping the nut tool would be a big no-no. The leash totally prevents that!!

Everything you need in a nut tool

I've used it a few times to get some stuck nuts and cams. Being able to use the flat end to really hammer at things is really helpful. The leash, which you could probably rig with other nut tools, adds just a touch of something extra to an already high quality product.

Must Have

If you have a rack of stoppers, this is a must have! Not only is it going to get those tricky stoppers out, it won't fall into the abyss if you drop it in the process. The leash is the best part about this tool, allowing you to really work a stopper out with two hands if necessary without worrying about losing your precious nut tool. A must have for any trad climber, I don't leave read more the ground without it!

Saves me lots of $$$

It does what youd want from a nut tool; relatively lightweight, low profile, catches itself if you drop it, and best of all it gets stuck nuts out. Ive used it to jimmy out plenty of nuts or a few cams that have walked themselves into a sticky situation. Definitely a fantastic nut tool for butterfingers as well!

Decent, but could be improved.

Grab this to try and solve my problems while trad climbing, like futzing around with my nut tool and being nervous of dropping it. And I thought this would make it all better. It's issues are that it still takes up a lot of space on my gear loops, gets tangled with my rack and seems to lose its bounce. Seems like the Retracto might be what I invest in to replace this.

SIMPLE BUT GREAT

I love how simple this but tool is, you have the leash with its own carabiner so you don’t drop it when retrieving your gear. The back is flat so you can really hammer it with your hand. Perfect tool for the simplicity but efficiency.

Simple nut tool with a leash

There is nothing outstanding about this one, except it has a leash (with its own carabiner). And I love it for that. It's that simple.

Nifty

This is the first nut tool I've ever purchased, and it's been good to me so far . I'm a big fan of the bungee that clips to your harness , so that you don't drop it . I also like how the butt of the tool is flattened, so that you can really hammer your palm on to it .

Best on the Market

After having this tool on my rack a few times I have grown to love everything about it. The tqo biggest things that I liked about it are the flat end and the lanyard. When I am following my leader I usually have this on one of my front loops. to make it a little easier to grab. When I am leading it is usually farther back. With the lanyard I had no worries when I had to reach all read more the way across my body with it unclipped and it was east to return. The blunt end was a life saver when I came across a few stubborn nuts that needed a good beating, The tool didn't flex at all which I was very impressed with seeing how light it is. all in all this is a great tool that I would recommend to anyone looking for a replacement or if they are building a rack for themselves.

A massive upgrade

For years, I used a lighter, flexier nut tool with a DIY leash and did just fine. But I decided to treat myself, and I am grad I did. The coil leach is great, because I can drop the tool and it does not dangle too low. Yes, it is a wee bit heavier than some of the other tools you can get, but the rigidity and little heel pad on the back are great when you need to hammer up on read more a nut.

The only nut tool you should consider.

Pretty much all nut tools work the same. But this one has a LEASH. No more messing around with carabiners or slings, as this has both integrated into it. One less thing to drop and make you look like a gumby.

Sweet tool!

Really like my wild country nut tool. Has some real solid features like built in bener, leash, and hand plate thing lol. The little bit of extra weight is worth it in my book! Must have nut tool!

Im think about this one and Metalious Freenut Key. Two questions: 1. The nose of this nut key seems to be quite sharp. Is it like very sharp so it could make a hole in the backpack material (or whatever clothing) when carried in it? Does it tend to get caught on things? 2. Is the wire-gate biner durable? Any complaints on fast breaking of it?
