Tenaya Tanta Climbing Shoe reviews and deals for sale

You first pair of climbing shoes barely have any rubber, which is fine because you've outgrown them; now you need a new, slightly more aggressive pair of sending boots like the Tenaya Men's Tanta Climbing Shoe. Tenaya designed this shoe with a slight downturn for the moderate aggression that intermediate climbers want for harder projects. The combination of synthetic leather and breathable, odor-resistant cotton lining prevents the upper from stretching like your old leather pair of shoes. Not too soft or too stiff, the Tanta's midsole and rubber sole feel just right for smearing, edging, and heel hooking your way to the top.

Great Everything Shoe

I climbed for a year indoors, then a mixture of indoor and outdoor for the past year and a half. Never really cared for the rubber as these were my everything shoes and after all that time I just started to see my toe on the tip of my left shoe. Durable, to say the least! FIT: My shoe size is a true men's 10.5..every time. I wore these Tantas as a size 9 comfortably. Toes slightly read more squished, could still walk normally, and also still press into my big toe on overhanging stuff or smear with all my weight (205lbs) Extremely quick break in.. inside of a week/ around 12ish hours of climbing indoor. Overall, this is an awesome everything shoe that can take a beginners abuse and last well into some more intermediate climbing indoor and outdoor as you learn to climb.

Good all-around shoe

I mostly climb in the Tenaya Inti, which are more aggressive than the new Tanta, but they are also more expensive and I wear through them too quickly in the gym. I picked up a pair of the Tanta specifically for climbing on those sandpaper gym walls. They are a really nice, comfortable slipper that are super easy to take on and off multiple times in a session. They have a decent read more amount of flex and just a touch of down-turn to the toe. The Tanta is a vegan shoe (woohoo!) and since they are synthetic, you can expect no stretch. The shoes fit fine right out of the box, which is the case with all Tenaya shoes for me. No breaking in period! Coming from a more aggressive Tenaya (the Inti), I was completely off guessing my size. I wear a 9.5 women's street shoe and a men's 10 in the Inti, but the men's 9 in the Tanta is still very much on the big side :( I developed extensor tendonitis from wearing too-tight climbing shoes, so I have sized all my shoes up to lessen my pain. These are, however, still too big a full size down from my favorite Inti. Oh well... If you are looking for a casual, lazy gym shoe that you can tear up and not feel guilty about, these are great! The color is a little bright for my liking, but I'm weirdly plain about my clothing :)

Does this shoe suit people with low-volume feet? Tenaya heel cups feel a bit baggy on some of their other models (e.g. Masai and Ra).
