Crank Brothers Doubleshot Pedals reviews and deals for sale
Crank Brothers' Doubleshot Pedals address the needs of riders who want to be clipped-in sometimes, but also want the freedom to occasionally ride on platforms. Whether you're a newbie to the world of clip-ins or someone who uses your bike for trail riding on the weekends and commuting during the week, the Doubleshot's two-sided design allows you to switch from clipped-in to flat with a flick of the pedals.
On the clipless side, Crank Brothers includes its classic Egg Beater design, which is easy to get in and out of in a pinch when you get to a technical section of trail. When you're clipped-in, you have the choice of either 15 or 20 degrees of float, and the lightweight aluminum and stainless steel body offers enough durability to handle both the roads and the trails without adding bulk to your frame.

Crank Brothers Doubleshot Pedals Reviews

October 14, 2020A bit difficult to click into
It does the job and is very easy to release from, which is most important. But at this price I thought it would be a little easier to click into. It often takes me 4 or 5 tries to click in which is a hassle on hills and leaves me behind if riding in a group. I also wish it were a bit lighter. I like my Shimano clipless a bit better, though not really much difference.

August 3, 2020Good idea but poor execution
They could be really good with the right set of shoes I think, I just haven't found those yet. I got these specifically because I would be able to ride my gravel bike in reg shoes on the platform side and in mtb shoes with the clips on regular long rides. I wasn't concerned about having to flip the pedals to get clipped unlike other mtb pedals due to my background with Shimano's… read more SPD-SL one-sided road cleats. Unfortunately, combined with 2 different pairs of mtb shoes that offer any tread for walking up impassible sections, there isn't enough clearance in the pedal's design to clip-in. The black metal bracket and platform shape around the clip mechanism interfere with treads on both sets of shoes I've tried, even with the included cleat spacers. The best option would be to use a Dremyl tool or sharp knife to shave away the sole of the shoe where needed, or to use a more road-like cycling shoe with no treads, but are you really willing to go through the trouble of mutilating any $100+ pair of shoes for the sake of using $70 pedals with no adjustability or real servicability? Really disappointed honestly

May 22, 2020Not quite what I wanted
I have rode clipless many years and love being clipped into my bike! I wanted to get into more downhill style and wanted a pedal that I could clip in and also ride flat. This design is a great idea until you actually use it... The flat side isn't stable because the cleat on your shoe interferes with your grip, and when you want to ride clipless you have to take the extra time to… read more make sure you're on the right side of the pedal to clip in. Overall good quality product but I'd say choose one or the other and stick with it!

March 17, 2020Just Didn't Work
These things are built very solidly, unfortunately I had a lot of problem on the trail getting in and out of the clips. I spent too much time with their finicky nature. The flat side is great. I do have nice grip when riding in more a commuter situation (I haven't ridden the flats on trail). Overall, I'll be replacing these going forward.

May 27, 2019Great Pedals
The crank brothers double shot pedals are a really good choice for most that are drawn to wanting both sides on clip ins and flat pedals. Easy to differentiate switching between the two on the trail.

April 8, 2019Great for first timer
These pedals are just what I was looking for. I've never used clipped in pedals but I bought these to try it and so far enjoy it. They are very easy to get in and out of, and it's nice being able to flip and ride unclipped if I need. Very happy with my purchase.

March 25, 2019Great for MTB
I enjoy riding with both flats and cleats, so these pedals are perfect for both. I have had great traction with flats and the clip in side works great as well. The platform is nice and wide so perfect for the new rider trying to get into clip ins.

September 24, 2018Great for Commuting
Bought these for commuting since I like to wear regular shoes when it's warm and click in during the winter. Read in other reviews that the platform side of the pedal is slippery, but I haven't experienced that. Sticks just fine to my shoes when not clipped in.
