Largest

The Coryvecken is the largest blade area available in a kayak paddle. With this paddle in my Tarpon 160, I'm able to keep up with my buddy in his Mirage-drive 16' Hobie Revolution. The Werner blades go both in and out of the water more efficiently than any other. The surprising light weight of the straight-shaft glass blade paddle is comparable to my all-carbon bent-shaft Camano. read more The Werner glass-blade carbon shaft paddles including the Corey and Camano are the biggest bang for the buck in kayak paddles.

Awesome paddle!

I can't say enough about this paddle! We got this paddle for adventure racing - where we do a mix of whitewater and flatwater packraft paddling. I expected to mostly use this paddle for whitewater and still use our wing paddles for flatwater, but this paddle is so light and efficient, we have pretty-much stopped using our wing paddles. The paddle is incredibly lightweight and read more durable at the same time. We've used it in class II/III whitewater. Love it! Note that I'm copying this same review for both the Corryvreckan and Shuna paddles. At 5'11", 180lbs, I use the Corryvreckan while my 5'2", 120lb girlfriend uses the Shuna - which is basically a smaller-bladed version of the Corryvreckan. We love them both!

Great Paddle!

This is a perfect starting paddle for kayakers venturing into high angle paddling but don't want to spend premium dollars for the carbon model. Werner has one of the best locking/angling systems for kayak paddles as well. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Great power paddle for mixed water

My wife and I found ourselves paddling our SOT's more than I anticipated in moving water, and I was especially fond of boulder gardens and ledges. Each of us needed a paddle with more oomph to get on line and to eddy out, so I got her a Werner Shuna with straight carbon shaft and fiberlass blade , amazon shipped by backcountry, and it proved to be a super paddle ,so I checked read more with Werner customer support about how the larger fiberglass blade on the Corryvrecken would hold up in the boulders and shoals compared to all-carbon. They were re-assuring so I pulled the trigger at backcountry.com, which had the best price. It's a great paddle...very light swing weight but minimal flex in the blade and power to spare when you need it. I have been out every weekend bashing it into rocks and ledges, even pushing a SOT upstream through the sluices. I still have longer touring paddles for flat or slow moving water, but this is my new favorite paddle.

Corryvrecken Paddle

This paddle exceeded my expectations. I decided to upgrade my paddle from a Werner Skagit... This paddle is nice and lightweight, and won't leave your arms feeling too tired after spending a couple hours on the water. The paddle slices very smooth through the water and the extra surface area on the blades gives you lots of speed. Adjustable angle feature is nice (as with any Werner read more paddle). I am using this paddle in conjunction with my Tsunami 125 kayak, in lakes, oceans, bays, and rivers. It works well in all conditions.

Corryvrecken is great!

This is a lightweight, sweet high angle paddle that I got for my boyfriend. We are in 16.5 ft sea kayaks all over the open Hudson River. I have the Camano, which is plenty of paddle for me... but he has greater upper body strength and needed a flutter-free, wider paddle with great control. Slices so clean. His grin and speed say it all. SO worth it, great price, quickly delivered read more in easy to handle packaging.
