When it is windy, the velcro is very easy to use, and hooks onto your rack to hold the Waterslide in place while you load. With the Waterslide, canoe loading is much less stressful...I don't have to worry about the canoe hitting the roof, because even if it does, it just slides along the Waterslide as intended.
