Good Box

Putting it together was a hassle, you will need atleast 2 people to do so. But once its put together it is a great cargo box. Looks good and gets the job done. Has enough space for camping gear but no enough space for skis and snowboards! I had to drill in a few extra holes. The pre drilled mounting holes were a little too small for my cross bars (factory subaru)

Perfect Box.

I purchased this cargo box for a cross-country move in my small sedan and it was perfect for adding a little more storage. I was concerned about it surviving the trip because it was pretty flimsy feeling in material, but once mounted and filled it was surprisingly stable and did not flop around. It also survived very strong winds and very heavy rains on this lengthy drive. Overall read more I was quite pleased with my purchase and knowing how well it did on this drive I would recommend this to someone looking for a little more space. Do note the sizing however as it is far too small to fit skis, boards, or anything of size inside. I should warn that the initial assembly is a bit of a pain, but the good news is you probably only have to do it once. It took two people to hold everything in place to assemble, but was easily mounted by one once done.

Expensive little box

I have had this box for about seven years. I agree that the assembly process was less than fun but not a deal breaker. The main appeal of the box for me was the size. I just wanted additional cargo space and this fit the bill. As far as quality goes, I would agree with most reviewers that it is pretty flimsy for the price tag! One of the ball and socket joints on one of the hinges read more on my cadet separated so the box lid no longer holds itself open on the back half of the box. Not a huge inconvenience but it never should have happened. Also I had to drill additional holes on the underside of my box in order for it to fit the luggage rack spacing on my bars. This apparently voids the warranty. Thank goodness, I have never had to get any service from Thule. Would I buy this product again, nope! Would I recommend it to a friend, nope. Has it served its purpose sure so I guess it just depends on what you need.

I love it.

It was a little difficult to put together but the box is great. It hold a surprising amount of stuff in it and I didn't notice any strange noises when driving on the freeway. I also like that is fits well with my smaller car.

Its Crap

$15.00 worth of parts, about a buck spent on engineering, and zero on quality control. Thi s unit consits of two pieces of thin plastic, two hinges, four u-clamps, and two locks that froze in the locked position after just one year. For something without very many parts, it was very hard to put together. Sure, you can put your golf clubs in it, so long as the golf course you're read more going to is a par 3 and all you need is a 3-iron, 7-iron and putter! It can all be yours for JUST $260!!

How much does this cargo box weigh? My factory installed roof-rack bars say that they support up to 100 lbs. Do I need to order different bars, or is the box itself pretty lightweight?
