Good basic straps

They are functional straps and they even say Thule on them!

Easy to use and I like the rubber thingy

So this is my second pair of straps like this. In fact, I think my first set was NRS. They were 12 footers, which left me with way too much extra after tying down my WS Tsunami 165 kayak to my Thule roof rack. The 9 footers are just the right size. Now, the funny rubber thingies...If they are just meant to cover the metal clasp and protect your paint/sunroof when you throw the read more strap over to the other side, then it definitely does the trick. But if they are meant to stay on for the duration, then I must be missing something. Because once I put them on it was close to impossible to feed anything into clasp with the...rubber on. So maybe they are just for protection for the toss over. If they're more than that then I'll have to give it another go when I'm not in such a hurry to tie on my kayak and get out on the water.

Burliest nylon strap out there

I rely on these to hold down super heavy 30 ft ladders mostly on the top of my Pathfinder and they're the best out there hands down. I've used other Walmart/HD/Lowes straps they sell and they just don't compare in terms of durability and longitivity. These don't degrade in heavy UV summers here in Utah at all. Don't trust your high dollar kayaks with anything else.

Must Have!

I racked my 1999 Nissan Sentra and the rack looks very good on my little green car! I also bought a Kayak rack to go with it and some of these straps came with the kayak rack. I actually keep these traps in my trunk and use them to tie down stuff on my roof rack such as wood, backpacks that don't fit in my tiny car, etc... These are very useful and can be used without a rack on read more your car too. simply open your doors, put the strap over your roof and through the car, cinch it tight, and close the doors.

Will these straps work to secure a 14 foot canoe to my roof rack?
