Multiple "fit" descriptions

This is a good looking well made North Face garment. The problem is that in the bold face product description at the top of the page the words "slim fit" are not used. It is only if you scroll down (I didn't) and read the whole description does it use the words "slim fit". To add to the confusion, if you read the "technical" details under "fit" it uses the word "regular". Once I read more received the jacket I noticed a tag marked "Slim Fit" before I removed it from its protective plastic sleeve. After trying it on I decided to keep it but I can assure prospective buyers that you will not be able to wear anything but a light shirt or turtleneck underneath unless you have a very slight/trim athletic build. This jacket doesn't fit at all like the numerous other North Face jackets I own.

TNF Thermoball

Bought this jacket 3 & 4 years ago (2 of them). Used them for hunting, fishing , backpacking, skiing, & climbing. Was going to buy another last week, tried it on. The quality & features are notably less. This jacket has been 'cheapened' so greatly I did not buy one.

I bought 3 of these

I have teenagers. They hate jackets. These they will wear because they are thin but warm. The first one I bought was weird because anything it caught on would tear the fabric. By the time my oldest had worn it for a season, it was a mess. I bought him a new one two years ago and he has not torn it on anything, so I think the easy tearing had been resolved. I am always worried read more that they are not warm enough, but I have used his coat to run out in the dead of winter and stayed warm. The middle one insisted on having one last year. He is very accident prone, so I worried his would be torn to shreds. But no, his is also in awesome shape after a full winter of wearing. I buy them a bit big so they can wear them more than one season and that had paid off. The 14 year old is 6’1” and 160 and wears a large. He can wear it with sweatshirts easily and not have an issue. He is a linebacker for his football team, so wide shoulders. The other one is 5’6” and 130 lbs. I bought him a medium and it was big on him, but space to grow, so I am happy.

Great jacket for cool weather

I got this coat at a pretty steep discount, and am overall quite pleased with it. It's perfect for those days in the 40's - 50'sF where you don't need your heavy coat. My only real complaint is that it doesn't have enough pockets! Just two handwarmers, no chest pocket, no inside pockets. In my world, every coat should have it's appropriate weight pair of gloves and cap, and the read more handwarmers get a little crowded carrying that.

A great insulator or for around town

I use this jacket under a gore tex piece for skiing. It is a great insulator. I love to use it around town when Im not up in the mountains for a comfortable jacket.
