The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant - Men's reviews and deals for sale

The North Face constructed the Freedom Insulated Pant with a regular fit that's equally as at home in the backcountry as it is in the terrain park. A waterproof and breathable DryVent shell serves up protection from wintry conditions of all kinds while a layer of synthetic insulation ensures you stay warm through storm conditions. However, when the sun comes out to play, the Chimney Vent cooling system funnels air from the gaiters to the inner thigh vents to keep you comfortable all day long. And, to round things out, The North Face equipped this pant with reinforced kick-patches and edge guards to assure added protection from sharp ski or board edges to keep the pant in top shape season after season.

Tough and durable

Great pants for snowboarding or skiing. I’ve worn them on days where temps were in the negatives on the slopes and my legs have never gotten cold. I’ve wiped out more times than I like to mention but these pants have no rips, tears or scuffs. Highly recommended product!

Tried several brands, models. This won.

Was looking for ski pants that were Medium, short. Not that many to choose from. But I was determined, and ordered 5 different brand/product options. These NorthFace pants won for fit and price point. Now I need snow. Also want to mention Backcountry is a great customer experience!

Warm, Durable, Small Pockets

Solid pant that'll keep you warm and dry. Sittin on your butt latching up your bindings can be miserable in the wrong conditions with the wrong pants, but the Freedom insulated pants never soaked through after hours and hours of frozen lifts and wet pow. The big kicker for me is the lack of beer-worthy pockets. . but, hey, that's why the thigh pocket holds a flask ! Gaiters are read more big enough to get over a boot and small enough to hold it tightly and keep out the mush. No buttons or zips or adjustments on the legs which means large leg openings, but not so big as too give you a 60's bell-bottom look. The Freedom look is tapered and trim up through the booty, not baggy, and enough room to groove on a board.

Tough, waterproof with wide temp range

Wore these on subzero powder days (full-on storm conditions), wore them in wet storm (32 F and coming down at 2"/hr), and sunny 40 F days. Comfortable, dry, and warm on the cold days, but not too warm for temps above 32F. Tough fabric. Amazing value.

Great Pants.

I purchased both the insulated and regular Freedom pants to replace Columbia and Nordic pants. During 5 days of skiing open to close at Monarch Mountain after Christmas when the temperature was well below 0F I stayed warm in the insulated pants wearing a wool onesie and fleece pants. Great pockets and accepts a belt. Very good value. Hopefully I’ll see some warm days to wear read more the regular pants.

You get what you pay for...

I am on my second season in these pants. They are comfortable and the insulation is very good. It is just enough to keep you warm on the very cold days, but does not overheat you when the temps go up and the sun is blazing. This issue is durability. I have small fabric tears everywhere. The fabric is NOT durable. It is not tough. I would not say that I have beaten these pants hard read more either, just normal usage. Like the title says you get what you pay for.

Great pants

Bought these as a gift for my father. Wanted a nice pant that was affordable. This north face pant offers the perfect mix! He is shorter so i got the smallest size possibly and it worked perfect for him! I looked at the sizing chart and that worked perfect for finding the right size for his measurmants (small/short) Plus it keeps him warm and dry in the California mountains! Definitely read more recommend for someone looking for a nice pant that is affordable.

Bomber.

I use these pants mainly for skiing, they are breathable for those warmer days but thick enough to keep you warm when the temperature really drops. Great pant to keep you warm and dry for all of your winter needs. I also appreciate the different lengths available, I’m 5’5 and went with the Small Short which fits perfectly.

Runs large

I'd definitely recommend looking at the size chart on these. My dad is usually a size Medium, but in these, he is a size small. The pants are definitely baggier, but the size small fits him perfectly. They are great every day ski pants, keep you warm and dry.

Made for a larger person, nice, not baggy

I bought these for my son, who has a muscular build, larger thighs and hips. They fit well. He is 6'0", 220 lbs. I went with the North Face Freedom for him and the Mountain Hardware for my other son who has a slender build. The North Face are much more roomy, however, not baggy, and made for a larger muscular guy.

Too baggy, size is off

I'm 5' 6.5" and wear 32/30. I ordered the m-short. The pants are waaay to baggy The waist was 36. I could fit a second person in there.

Classic

Its hard to argue with tradition. In this case, the pants that have become a tradition for me year over year. I started using these pants a few years ago and due to a couple close calls with trees, a couple pokes from the poles and some pretty aggressive boots ripping through the gaiters, I needed another pair. Warm enough to wear a mid-weight baselayer on the coldest days, and read more well enough ventilated that you can wear in your favorite spring skiing conditions. The waterproofing on them lasted me a good two seasons then I was able to replenish their water-shedding-powers with a little nik-wax washing. Overall they are super cozy, easy to maintain and very durable... Even for my hard use! Excited to start breaking in my second pair.

Brother Loves These

Got these as a gift for my brother, and he loves them. He said they fit just right, and keep him warm and dry on the slopes. He also said that they are comfortable enough to use all day boarding cause they don't pull or pinch in any place.

True to Size

These work for me. Simple pair of snow pants that are not over-done. I am 6'0" 165 lb with a 34" inseam. The Medium tall was perfect.

Too baggy

I'm 6'2 185lbs (skinny legs). I ordered a Medium-Long and it was a bit short, a bit too baggy. I bought the Mountain Hardware Insulated Highball Medium-Long and liked it much much more.
