Excellence

I've literally put these base layers through the wringer. Hiking tough trails to skiing the toughest slopes they keep me warm and dry. I'm a big athletic guy and the XXL fit perfect I can wear it by itself to around 45 degrees. Anything below that I throw on an insulated jacket and all is well. Also works great under a vest!

Mhm, Merino

My dad knows good products but wouldn't often buy them for himself for whatever reason. Bought him this baselayer for some extra warmth. You can buy smartwool confidently because as long as you follow the care instructions it will last quite a while.

Everest Base Camp

I bought a set of these, both top and bottom for my buddy who used them on a 2 week trek to Everest base camp, with overall elevation gain of 30,000 feet and temperatures between 10-50 degrees Fahrenheit. He reports the fit is excellent, however slightly better suited for someone less slender. Also noteworthy, the fabric didn't lose it's shape nor noticeably begin to stink after read more 10 days of straight use. He said the 250 weight was perfect alone during warmer parts of the day and layered during the night.

Excellent winter mtb jersey

Having been disappointed with the quality and warmth of long sleeve mountain bike jerseys for winter, I looked outside the world of cycling and found these. So comfortable, very warm down to about 45 degrees (with no other layers), great fit, great style, and even withstood a crash on the elbow with not even a single torn thread. Also wicks much better than polyester jerseys and read more stays dry. But wait....there's more...doesn't hold odor. I smelled this jersey 2 days later after a ride and there was no sweat odor!!!! Amazing. Buying more. Also good for house lounging!

Clutch Winter Layering

This long sleeve is one of my favorite fitting wool base layers. Super warm and doesn't get bunched up under other layers. Neckline is perfect, as some get a little too tight around that area.

So soft

I bought this as a gift, but it's so soft. I was not expecting it to be so great. I love it. I don't know about durability yet, but it's so nice to the touch.

AMAZING LAYER

The best layer ever for all things cold. It is so comfortable and warm. It looks great as well, you can wear it from the bars to the peaks and not regret it for a second. This never comes off in the winter and thanks to the marino wool the stink stays out. I recommend buying one for every day of the week. I bought a large for a longer more casual fit. The medium would be a great read more technical fit but I like to wear this around the town.

The Best

My boyfriend and I both wear this as staples of fall, winter, and spring. Soft, cozy, warm. Technical for skiing, fishing, hiking, camping, but also looks good at the bar or dinner with parents. One of my favs. I love wearing it oversized when kicking it outside in the evening after a swim in the river.

Favorite baselayer yet

Bought another one of these tops for my boyfriend after his got shredded by ski patrol. He was really disappointed to lose his last one because he wears one of these almost every day in cold weather. From work to the slopes he stays warm and comfortable in this shirt. In short: warm, soft, no chafe seams, best base layer top for cold weather

Great Baselayer

I am a fan of using merino wool as a next-to-skin baselayer. I have a pair of Patagonia's thermal weight merino base layers as well, and this is a comparable product. It is soft enough for next to skin, but barely. I love most of the qualities of merino wool, but it is still not nearly as soft as synthetic. I am sure it will get softer with wear, but I could feel a slight itch read more all over my upper body during the first wear. I wish it was a little snugger fitting in the midsection. Overall, it is a high quality product. I am looking forward to having it keep me warm during our sometimes brutal Wisconsin winters.

Good base layer

Good solid base layer. Comfortable and not itchy. Wore skiing; not too hot; excellent for layering.
