Hole after two washes

Smartwool is usually my standard winter underlayer for the office. I bought the alpine blue in medium and loved it. Beautiful color, great fit, soft feeling on the skin. However, after two washes, it developed a hole in the arm. It's too late to send back and for the price that's a raw deal!

Holes after two washes!

Smartwool is usually so lovely. I bought the alpine blue in medium. I love the blue color. I love the softness of the wool. The fit is wonderful. I wore it at work sitting in my home office and it is comfortable and cozy. However, I washed this only twice in Phoenix city tap water and it developed small holes. For the price paid, it shouldn't do this! Since I've already worn it, read more i can't return it and get my money back. Raw deal!

My “go to” shirt

I love this shirt for everything from hiking to lounging. I have one in three different colors. I wear one every day if I can.

Color Not As Pictured

I ordered two of these shirts in Very Berry Heather (one for myself, one for a gift) and sent them back because the color is more of a raspberry pink than it appears to be on the website. I thought it would be red, not pink. I already own one of these tops in black and am very happy with it.

5 stars for the lighter colors...

I have four of these. I use three of them as a baselayer for skiing (a dark pink, a heather blue, and a light peach) - black, the most recent addition to my collection, is already riddled with holes. I've given it no treatment I haven't the others (wash on tap cold, and air dry) but there you go - many, many holes. The three have worn well, with wear/washing as often as 2-3x read more per week. Minimal to no piling. I am 5'4" and a 34D, but with a very small ribcage and waist (and with a larger (alas) bottom). At 140 lbs the XS fits me perfectly (so I recommend that others w an hourglass figure size appropriately.)

Best laying piece!

I love that its wool! An excellent layering piece - my whole family wears them - crews, leggings and 1/2 zip long sleeve tops. And if you put them w jeans - great for hanging out too. Easy to wash and wears well after numerous washings. Might get minimal pilling so wash w similar pieces. I have tops in med and large; sometimes I want room and sometimes need fitted.

Every Day

Comfy enough to wear every day and performs great as a baselayer. I recommend this for some many uses.

Merino for the win

If you read my site wide reviews you will probably get bored with how much I hype up Merino wool, but I will never get bored of wearing it. Merino is the warmest yet thinnest fabric and keeps me toasty on bitterly cold days on the slope, and when it's hot out, it's breathable and wicks away sweat and moisture. Since the fit is slim, it doesn't clump up under my other layers. I don't read more personally find it itchy. Wash in cold and you'll make sure it doesn't become itchy.

The best

This top is very nice! It just has a very flattering cut! It looks awesome on, much better than on the pic. I am tall (5’11) and it’s long enough and the sleeves too! I love this top, didn’t expect it to be this good!:) buy it!!!!

Perfect Base Layer

Bought this for my sister in law. She is new to Utah and has always lived in warm climates. She reports that it is the perfect base-layer under shirt for skiing, fit is true to size and material is super soft and comfortable for all day in the snow

My favorite top!!

I recently relocated from the south to the upper Midwest right in time for winter. Needless to say I did NOT have the appropriate gear. So I researched base layers for several days and landed on this top. It was on sale so I ordered two. And now I want them ALL. I haven’t found a job in our new town yet, so I quite literally live in these shirts! They’re wonderful and read more cozy to wear around the house, and easy to layer on top of for when I venture outside. My only complaint is that they hold on to hair... I’m a woman with long blonde hair and I have a white dog... not the best combination. I don’t think it’s a flaw in the product, though, just annoying. I’m a true small, and the small fits perfectly. 10/10 would recommend this top. You won’t regret it!

Itchy, but warm

Wore this out on a day of snowboarding. It was too itchy to wear this directly against my skin, so I wore a thing long sleeve and then this and then my jacket. I was nice and toasty.

Solid

I'm normallay a Patagonia Capilene underlayer kind of girl but I tried these along with the matching bottom and was pleasantly surprised. The top fits snug and is farely breathable with a good amount of stretch + super soft. Would recommend

Disappointed with the material

I bought this item based on the reviews. People raved about the material being soft and not itchy. The item is soft to the touch with the hands, however once the item is on it was itchy. I returned the item and decided to go with something else instead for my trek.

comfortable and stylish

I love this shirt. I've worn it out to dinner, under and over other shirts and jackets, and I've worn it as a pajama/loungewear. Very versatile, but the dark green color is very stylish and the fit was very flattering.

Breathable and warm!

This baselayer offers warmth but not to the point where you overheat. The material is breathable and comfy. Not at all itchy like most wool. 10/10 recommend!

Multipurposed

This is one of my favorite shirts for skiing on cold days, or any day at work. It is quite warm, so I recommend saving it for sub 20 degree days on the slopes, but it can be worn casually any time during the cold months. The fit is really flattering and it is quite soft for a wool shirt. One thing I wish is that it had longer sleeves. Try sizing up if you have long arms.
