protection from sun, seem durable...

had 3-day float trip on the agenda and worried about constant sun exposure--these did the trick without lathering the back of hands with sun screen (and risk contaminating the fly or putting a chemical concoction on the fly line/leader and potentially turning off the fish). My only gripe, and its a small quibble, is that they didn't protect my finger where I wanted to naturally read more strip the line across. Similarly, when a fish hit and I raised the rod to take up the slack in the line (to get the fish on the reel), that line ripped across the exposed part of my finger too. Both caused a 'line burn' on my (delicate--yeah...my day job is banging away at a computer keyboard) fingers. By the end of the trip, I sort of 'learned' to adjust handholds/fingers such that the line now went across glove covered skin...felt a little awkward but worked.

Great Fishing Gloves

I used these for the first time back in mid-May and am still breaking them in! Initially I went with the size Large, but sized down to a Medium (although I usually wear a large glove in everything else). So if you are on the fence, I'd recommend sizing down. UPF protection, keeps your hands warm in colder water conditions and fit very well. I am still getting accustomed to where read more the leather pad on the index fingers comes as I feel like I am losing feel of the line (I like have a trigger finger on the rod to hold the line up against it). It could be that I just need to break them in and the leather will soften over time getting only better. If you are looking for a well made, comfortable UPF fishing glove that you will love - look no further. Simms makes some of the best, if not the best fishing gear and apparel out there - the gloves are definitely no exception! Hit me up if you have any questions on these or any other fishing gear, apparel etc.
