Simms Guide Guard Sock reviews and deals for sale

When you shed your waders for a hot day, your foot is left inside your wading boot to be cold, chafed, and bruised. The Simms Guide Guard Sock protects your foot for long days of wading, with cushy neoprene defending your foot against the abrasive nature of your wading boot. Even when it's warm above the water, the melting snow presents a challenge for your foot, so the 3.5mm insulates your foot against the chill of the water so you can wade confidently and comfortably.

Hate the clip, love everything else

Previous to buying these I was using neoprene socks made for kayakers. Some differences between that style and these fly fishing specific ones. 1. These are porous around the foot. I like that keeps the water fresh as I felt like my previous pair would trap the same water in there all day, leading to mild cases of trenchfoot. But, if you are in a very cold river your feet might read more get cold as this won't allow your body heat to warm the water as much. Think of it as a wetsuit with water passing through more frequently. The porous nature also allows these to dry faster, while my old pair would take days to completely dry out. 2. The clip is meant to connect to your laces, but I found most frequently it just created another place for fly line to snag. I wear these up around my calves sometimes to keep brush off, and the clip is especially problematic then. But even when down I found my fly line caught in this while casting. 3. The kayaking version didn't have a right and left, these are much more comfortable
