Heavy but breathable

Solid choice for the few fishing trips I’ve taken it on so far and I know it’s gonna stay in my bag from here on out. I bought the XL so I could hike in it without it getting too tight with my pack on and I honestly swim in the thing but it’s perfectly baggy without being a nuisance. Get it wet to cool off and it stays wet for an hour in the 100+ degree sun. I love it. Will read more be purchasing a few more.

Montana designed and tested

The Simms Bugstopper hoodie not only helps fight against mosquitoes, but also provides excellent protection from the elements. This hoodie has become an item I make sure to never leave the house without when going fishing. It functions great as a sun blocker and is perfect as an under layer for colder days on the water. I have yet to wear this in a dense mosquitoes area but it has read more worked nicely on the Montana rivers!

Gift for my dad, but his feedback is:

The Simms BugStopper Hoodie is pretty darn nice. I’ve also got the Patagonia Tropic Comfort Hoodie II, so I can do a little compare and contrast. The hood on the Simms product is a little more contoured. You can fit a ball cap under it, but I can see that a hat will fit over the hood on the Simms product pretty easily. The Simms product is actually a little more contoured in read more the arms and body (not what I expected), and is a little heavier. I have used both while fishing from my Jackson Mayfly kayak and I can say that both were good to keep the sun off. The Patagonia Tropic Comfort is lighter and for hotter days. Whereas, the Simms is slightly heavier. It seems very durable and the cut is comfortable.

Comfortable, thick yet breathable

This is a great summer sun shirt. It is thick enough to be worn by itself and keeps the bugs off. Despite its thickness, it breathes really well and isn't an issue.

Typical Simms Quality

Gave this to some guy I know, these are his words: Love this hoodie. Typical Simms quality and attention to detail. Fit is dead on for a sun hoodie - I'm 5'10" with an average build and the medium fits great. Looser cut to let the breeze cool you down. The fabric is a bit thicker than some others I've worn - likely owed to the insect repellant aspect - but it still dumps heat when read more the temps climb. Have worn in 80+ degree weather and been completely comfortable. In 90+ weather it might get a bit warm. Have yet to wear it with too many bugs around, so I can't speak to its effectiveness in that regard.
