Selle SMP Evolution reviews and deals for sale
A saddle is more than just something to sit on. It's a key interface between you and your bike, a place where you can feel the road underneath you and exert control over your steed, so having a saddle that suits your physiology and riding style is important. Selle SMP's Evolution Saddle is designed for riders with average-to-narrow pelvises, as it has a relatively thin profile, only moderate padding, and Selle's trademark beak shape, which is designed to remove pressure on your you-know-whats. Strategically located foam elastomer padding and a pressure-relieving central channel provide support in some key areas and space in others, while the raised tail of the saddle provides a powerful platform for seated pedaling.
Depending on color, the Evolution is wrapped in smooth leather or durable Lorica synthetic. The nylon and carbon composite shell provides a firm but not brutally stiff platform, and the steel rails are durable without adding excess weight. Even better, the Evolution is versatile enough for both road and trail riding, something not too many other saddles can claim.

March 12, 2019Best Saddle I've tried so far
This is my go to saddle for rides over 100 miles. I have a 30 waist so it fits very well. It has an interesting shape that works surprisingly well on long rides. Have completed 207 mile ride with 20,000 feet of climbing on this saddle without any significant discomfort.

November 20, 2018I couldn't used to it.
I noticed less pressure on the groin area. It hit me in the wrong spot and my tail bone was really sore.

July 13, 2018Comfort at last
Solid, comfortable contact with sit bones. No more pain in the "soft tissues". Comfort for multiple hours in the saddle.

August 7, 2015Favorite saddle for years
I just bought my 3rd Selle SMP Evolution saddle, and I am definitely a big fan. The design relieves pressure, but I still find it to be comfortable in a wide variety of positions. In particularly excels as you rotate your hips forward into more of a TT position. No more numbness. The construction quality is also very good. I still ride one that has been everywhere with me since… read more 2008.

February 9, 2015Gorgeous saddle. Wish it worked for me
This Concorde beaked saddle is very finely crafted. The leather, stitching, shape, and rails are wonderfully executed. The quality and concern for detail were what I would expect from a very pricey leather attach case. I know the radical shape solves the perineal pressure problem for many male riders. It seemed to work for me too, on the trainer. On the road, the reduced… read more surface area edges lit up my tender undercarriage as is always a risk for saddle designs that sharply reduce surface area. The remaining surface has to put more pressure on something. That's why an anatomical saddle can end up hurting much more if it doesn't suit you. The beaked nose deserves special mention. Most split nose saddle designs also chop the nose quite short. SMP chose to bend their nose but not alter its length. Pedal strokes feel just a touch more mechanically efficient and handling is improved as well because the bent nose between your legs can still be used to guide the bike. The "bent nose" idea works quite well. If you are looking at perineum pressure reducing saddles, this one deserves consideration. The saddle is very well made, beautiful, and functionally innovative. I would be riding it if my body hadn't rejected the idea.
