SealLine Discovery Deck Dry Bag Reviews

March 10, 2020Size Does Matter
I was worried about getting one of the 10L sizes that are on sale. I resisted getting two and just ordered one, which I am glad I did. The 10L size once rolled up leaves you with the space that could hold a six pack of 16oz beers, with a small amount of space on top, about two hands in a fist against each other. I will most likely get a 30L, or 50L for myself and let my wife… read more use the 10L. What I think the best use of the 10L would be for anyone going to Hawaii.. Securing you valuables, keeping them dry and safe. How would it help keep them safe? It isn't wise to leave your things unattended at any beach. If you go to a beach such as Waikiki, or any beach where there are numerous people walking by, bury your valuables under your beach blanket . Dig a hole and throw a small bag with your phone, wallet, car keys, etc, etc. Do a thin backfill and a flattening spread of any extra sand and place your towel over it. The 10L bag would be a perfect size for creating a good waterproof stash bag. So you can go into the water to swim and not have to worry about the snatch and grabs that are becoming a serious problem at the majority of beaches in Hawaii. Crimes of opportunity is what they call them. We have spoken to a few cops we have seen at a few different beaches who are there for what they said were "Locals grabbing bags when the tourists go in the water.." I think it is smart to not be paranoid, but be prepared to not make yourself an obvious victim. Nothing laying out makes it look like you don't have anything of value and they will move on. Nobody wants your towel. The reason for getting the 30L or 50L? To carry those towels and any larger items you want to carry to the beach, keeping them dry and secure. The 10L would also be a great size for items you want to bring with you while you are stand up paddling. An extra layer, phone, wallet and car keys.

I purchased this for paddleboarding so I can take what I need out and not worry about it getting wet. I like the ability to purge air without rolling it all the way down. Great product and love the orange plaid!

You only have to fold this bag one time. I like the carry strap and hooks on each side!
