Scott Cadence Plus Helmet reviews and deals for sale

You've ridden cadence-based workouts, suffered through miserable interval sets, and done repeats on every hill in a 50-mile radius of your house. You're ready for your summer race calendar. Before you sit back and relax into a few taper days, take inventory of your helmet. If it's been a loyal training companion since before racing crossed your mind, then it's probably time to think about an upgrade. Show up to the start line in the Scott Cadence Plus Helmet and make sure your lid is helping, not hurting your chances of staying in front of the pack.

As an aero helmet, the Cadence Plus was built to efficiently usher air over you as you race with as little resistance as possible, so while it does include some venting, coolness isn't the primary goal. For race day, fill the vents with the included Aero Plugs that ship with the helmet, and you'll ensure full uninterrupted airflow over the top of the Cadence Plus.

As extra reassurance in crash-heavy crits, Scott backs up the In-Mold shell with an inner layer of MIPS protection. MIPS, or Multi-directional Impact Protection System, refers to a thin basket on the inside of the helmet that rotates independently of the helmet's shell on impact to diffuse rotational energy generated in certain crashes.

Ok helmet

The helmet fit and adjustment is perfect on my head. (Oval). Not sure how much it helps with aerodynamics noting that it’s a bit heavy so probably offsets on climbs. Took a bike shot during a crash and hardly even marked the thing so it’s pretty durable. The big hang up for me is it gives me total mushroom head which looks terrible and in my mind defeats the any positives read more it May bring for aerodynamics. Think of a big ugly sail and maybe something out of Mario?. So, get it if you care more about fit than looks and maybe it’s a nice change Of pace helmet for nights when your sprinting.

THE PADS ARE TERRIBLE

I really wanted to love this helmet. At first, it was great, but like so many others the pads are falling apart. That is completely unacceptable for a helmet in this price range. I haven't even owned the helmet for 6 months. I would not recommend this helmet to anyone.

My favorite helmet

I bought this helmet about 18 months ago to use in an Ironman. Now it's been through 2 IMs, but equally important, I enjoy using it a few days a week (trading off with my Bell Status) for road riding. It's been perfect. Super aero, fits well, comfortable and cools efficiently. Love that it has MIPs. Not many cyclists have this helmet, so people notice it. Very durable, read more still in great shape. Recently on a cold day, I used the Aero Plugs to seal the front vents. This worked well! Note about sizing; I have a large head and some L helmets are not big enough, but this one is great. Fits similar to a L Bell helmet.

Pads are falling apart after a few uses

I really wanted to like this helmet. But the pads on it made it impossible. I'm currently on my third Scott Cadence Plus and the last two had issues with the pads. After a few uses, the pads started separating like napkin. In fact on my third helmet, this happened only after a single ride. I'm not sure whether I kept ordering from a bad batch, but without better manufactured pads read more this helmet is not usable. Save your money and buy something else.
