SciCon Aerotech Evolution X TSA Case reviews and deals for sale

Let's face it, bikes are expensive. If you travel frequently with yours, it deserves the most protection you can provide and one of the better cases we've come across is the designed in Italy Aerotech Evolution X TSA Case from SciCon. It'll give your bike a fighting chance against heavy-handed baggage attendants and ensure that it arrives unscathed and ready to ride. SciCon uses a high-impact ABS composite for the ultimate in protection while keeping the weight incredibly low at only 11kg or just over 24-pounds. It's one of the most robust and lightest hard shell bike transport cases on the market and it's now compatible with thru-axle systems.

The case requires minimal disassembly of your bicycle with only the wheels, seatpost, and one pedal needing to be removed and the handlebar only needs to be loosened and turned. The bike’s wheels are stored safely in the wheel compartments of the bike travel case while everything is cocooned in padded protection. Furthermore, it maximizes space with dedicated storage areas for the pedals and seatpost and saddle fitting into a special storage bag. Its patented design also houses road and tri bikes with integrated seatposts.

This case gives you the confidence of knowing that your bike will arrive safe and sound at your destination. SciCon developed and tested this case with professional cycling teams and the request for quick release adapters for both thru-axle and quick-release systems was an ask as disc brakes have become more and more ubiquitous. The case is sleek and compact allowing it to fit easily into vehicles and while navigating busy airports. It's equipped with two Travel Sentry approved TSA key locks, making sure your bike is only accessible by TSA agents and protected from any other unwanted access. The dedicated compartments, included shock absorbing tube pads, and clever Suspended Frame System (SFS) hold everything firmly in place, providing extra stability and safety and allow easy visibility for security to inspect the contents without having to remove anything.

Travel, especially moving through busy airports is stressful enough so thankfully SciCon makes it as easy as possible to maneuver. The case features four ball bearing wheels that have 360-degree rotation letting you move with your bike upright and rolling in silence.

No fear anymore

I have used this case traveling all over the US now, on a variety of airlines. I also used UPS to ship my bike coast to coast and the case is still holding up perfectly with no damage at all to my bike! Best part is that it is a 5 minute pack job when you are familiar with how everything goes, and the little bit of extra room for gear or other "non carry on" items is a bonus. Scicon read more also has amazing customer support now that they have a US biased facility, called them up when I lost a my key and had a flight the next day, and I think the customer service rep drove to the post office himself to make sure the key shipped out same day!

Easy to use and very well made

The Evolution case is amazing! It takes very little time to put your bike in it. The structure and size is perfect for my bike which offers great padding and the straps hold it down very well. It has been used about half a dozen times with nothing damaged to the case or the bike. The wheels and outer strap allows for easy traveling in and out of airports. I would definitely recommend read more this hard case to anyone that want to travel with their bike safely.

Solid & Light

This is exactly what I was looking for. The cut-outs for wheels and frame help lock everything in place. I didn't notice any shifting when I opened it up after a 5 hour flight. I was worried it wouldn't hold up well since it's so lightweight, but after two plane rides it only has a few scratches from being tossed around. Seems solid and I expect it to last a while. If you're read more looking for a solid but lightweight case to make bike travel easier, this is it.

Don't Buy This

While the case is designed very well, and packing is relatively easy, here are the main issues. For one, the plastic used is very thin and after just two times shipping my bike via FedEx, there was a sizable crack in the top of the case. After my third shipment, one of the silver latches on the side of the case nearly broke off. Of course when I reached out to both Scicon and Competitive read more Cyclist, they said neither of them bear any responsibility for this whatsoever. They blame the shipper, which is preposterous. The whole point of a hardback case is to PROTECT your bike during expected wear and tear and shipping back and forth. FedEx didn't do anything wrong; we expect boxes and such to face some banging around. So now after three uses, I have a case that is pretty much non-functioning. And no one will help me. Not Scicon, not Competitive Cyclist. Everyone passes the buck. Far more durable is the Thule hardback case, which I owned previously. But I was suckered into the nice design here. Telling you now, this is a huge waste of money on a poorly constructed product. And the second you buy it, Competitive Cyclist will walk away; they won't stand by a product they sell.

Probably the lightest bike travel case

Makes travelling with my road bike easy and stress free. Takes me no more than 10 mins to pack. A great feature is that everything has its place in the case. Frame is secured with straps, wheels go into wheel compartments, saddle & pedal goes into a storage bag. With everything in place all components are easily accessible. Should TSA have to inspect the contents - which has happened read more to me - putting the components back into the case as TSA agents have found them is fool proof. Great product and hasn't let me down on several flights.
