September 24, 2018Best line I've found
I've fished multiple lines (my own and testing other's rods) and Rio Gold is about as good as you can find. Love this line.

I'm not sure why anyone skimps on a fly line. If given the choice I'll spend less money on a reel and rod and go with a top-notch fly line. This is your connection with the water and what's going to keep that hog coming towards you. Highly visible, the float is unparalleled and will it last you years to come if you take care of it.

July 5, 2018Great
As with all Rio products, this floating line is near top of the line and a staple on almost all of my fly reels. Casts easily and accurate across a variety of fly sizes, floats with a nice high profile, and is very responsive/easy to mend.

The comments below say it all. Super reliable, slick line. I recently cleaned up an old real and added this fresh line. It casts nicely. Paired it with the Rio Dacron backing.

Got a chance to try out this line on the Middle Fork of the Provo this week and loved how responsive it was. Floats really well on the water, and is easy to see.

Slides through the guides of my 6-weight Sage like a senior prank buttered pig through the hands of a high school principal.

As soon as I bought this line I went to on a trip to Colorado. The line preformed flawlessly. Very smooth and very strong. Rio is the best!

April 8, 2016Killer line.
Love the taper on this line. I Just spooled it up on my my five weight, and I really like the way it casts. My rod has a medium-fast action and this line loads it quickly, keeps a tight loop, and picks up easily. It mends well when you're lobbing bobbers, but is also really enjoyable to cast with dries. Roll casts felt almost effortless with it too.

This is a great for me as i am just starting out in fly fishing, can hold a larger fish and not let you down. welded end helps too to get the leader on.

July 20, 2015This. Is. It.
While the cost of this line is equivalent to market-value of your left kidney, it's worth it. Effortlessly moves through the guides, throws well at all lengths, and doesn't sink like I do after I eat a pan of cookies. So go sell your Pokemon card collection and invest in this line.

February 5, 2015It's Gold.
Between Orvis and Rio all of my reels get their fill of line. I put the WF5 on in 2013 and it's been hanging in there pretty good. The head seems to have a texture on it but that doesn't seem to impede cast ability or float. I've found the version of the Gold more supple and resists memory and stays flexible in colder temperatures.

December 21, 2014The best line out there, for me anyhow.
I've had this line on my 5wt and 3wt for over three years now, just now buying it for my 4wt after trying some SA line... needless to say I won't be returning(sorry loyal SA fans). I had some cheaper lines before I began using this(The Cortland big box special and Rio MainStream), and to be honest I was quite skeptical. I mean, its just line, it can't be that different, and this… read more stuff is over 70 bucks? Jesus! I took out my 5wt after I begrudgingly forked over the coin - my jaw hit the river. This stuff flows through your guides like melted butter - so smooth. It can do it all - delicate enough for sz. 20 dries or throw your streamers and everything in between. 3 years later and this line is still in good shape with no signs of wear, cracking or any of that stuff. Do yourself a favor and order it. You won't regret it.
