RIO Fluoroflex Leader reviews and deals for sale

When the water is crystal clear and the trout are spooky, turn to the RIO Fluoroflex Leader for a stealthy presentation. The 100% fluorocarbon material is nearly invisible, offers good abrasion resistance, and has a pre-tied loop for easy rigging.

Sink or Swim

Sinking flies or swimmin' streamers this leader is great. I purchased the 4x 7.5' leader for throwing wooly buggers and leeches. Easily turns over flies size 6+, and durable.

Follow the Leader

I generally only fork over the cash for flouro leader for streamer fishing, although I have no doubt that the extra strength and stealth would be very beneficial for nymphing (being a cheapo is a personal choice). The 0x is excellent for streamers- super clear for maximum trout-foolery, and super strong in case you find yourself in a battle with a megalodon.

Clear and strong

This is my go to leader for my nymph rigs. Its invisible and really strong. They seem to last longer than any mono leader that I have used.

Makes a difference

converted over to the Fluoro leaders and they are definatly stealthier and I think a bit stronger too as they seam to have a little shock or stretch to them. Much better for clear water, spooky type situations...all though I use them all the time now.

Spring Creekin

If you are fishing to some spooky trout, a full fluoro leader will really cover your butt. If you are fishing to spooky fish and nymphing for the majority of the time then you also cant really go wrong with a full fluoro leader either. I have predominately used full fluoro leaders on the Harriman Ranch section of the Henry's fork due to its spring like conditions and extra spooky read more large fish. Thought its mainly a dry fly fishery a longer fluoro leader is still needed most of the time to catch those weary fish.

Great for Weeds, Hoppers, Big Streamers

Unless I go with straight level mono, these tapered all fluorocarbon leaders are great for big trout hunting especially when you are casting big mouse patterns into the weeds or big streamers. The taper allows the fly to turn over better and is much more abrasion resistant. The big plus of going with the tapered fluorocarbon leader instead of building your own custom leader is that read more you avoid the blood knots in between the fluoro/mono pieces and also avoid the weeds and muck you might get stuck to the knots. Always have a couple in your bag when you are expecting or not expecting murky or weedy water. that might get snagged in the leader knots.

Really Great

This Fluoroflex Leader by RIO is awesome. It is very strong, unbelievably clear, and 5 star when it comes to throwing a nymph rig. It has a little more sink to it than a typical monofilament leader which is the main reason that I love it for nymphing. Also, the pretty much invisible look of the leader is killer for those super spooky fish! Overall top notch leader that I would 100% read more recommend, especially if you are going to be throwing some nymph rigs out there. Pair it with some RIO Fluoroflex tippet for when your leader starts to get a little short on you and you'll be all set

Solid Leader

Strong and easy to rig up with the pre-tied loop on the line end. I've been using the Flouroflex leaders in Utah rivers and lakes, and I don't have any complaints.

Quality leader

High quality leader that get the job done. These flouro leaders are more transparent in the water; however, are a bit more prone to sink (vs. the Powerflex leader). I typically use the flouro leaders for nymphing/subsurface and the Powerflex leaders for fishing on top with dries. If the water is super clear and slow I will occasionally use flouro for fishing on top, but you must read more dress your fly more often to ensure appropriate presentation

Gets the job done!

Easy to attach to line with the loop, just make sure your line is compatible. Rio make's awesome products and I would recommend this and any other products they make to anybody hitting the streams!

The $12.95 price implies this is a 3-pack. Is this correct even though it's not specified?
