December 24, 2020Perfect and comfortable hiking pants
Awesome climbing trousers, especially because I can button them up at the ankle area and they do not get snagged on the rocks or wall. They do run a bit on the smaller size around the waist though.

December 13, 2020Now Prefer Over Kuhl
I am 5-11, 210 lbs. Usually wear 36-38 waist and 30-32 length. Bought shorts in 38 waist and can still wear them but do need to cinch up a bit. Went for 36-30 pants and they are spot on. I am 31 in length but can never find this. Always in between- length 30 fits like a 31. I now have 3 pairs of these and have taken place of Kuhl pants where the button feature is always a crap shoot.… read more Pockets are nice and deep and the left side cargo pocket is not too big and not too small. Have ist pair for about 6 months now and they are holding up well. Just told my hiking buddy about these today. He is a skinny guy and can never find a 28-29 waist. Pull the trigger on these- you will not be disappointed.

November 11, 2020Great pants!
These pants are great for around town, or hiking out in the woods! They are super comfy and look great too!

September 30, 2020LOVE these pants!
I ordered one pair and they fit so well that I immediately bought two more. I used one pair during a three-night (32-mile) backpacking trip in Middle Tennessee mid-September, and they were excellent. When it warmed up during the day, they had enough elasticity in the leg that I was able to fold them over a few times and convert them to shorts (above the knee, not using the sewn-in… read more buttons). The next morning, it was cooler, and they retained their shape when unfolded into long pants again. The number and placement of pockets, as well as the diversity of pocket closures, were perfect for me. I usually keep my phone in my left-rear pocket, and that pocket on these has super easy open access, while the right-rear has a flap closure. The left-thigh pocket has a top and a side zipper, and this also worked great for keeping small tools accessible at camp, when I was kneeling to work with the fire, etc. I also wear these regularly as day-to-day pants, and I'm thinking about ordering a couple more pair so I'll have one for each weekday. They are by far the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. I'm 5'10" and about 157 pounds and ordered mine in a 32x32. The fit is great, and the attached waist adjustment works very well for fluctuations while in the field.

September 28, 2020Time and time again
With over 450 five star reviews theirs no doubt this is one of the most popular items on backcountry and to a good reason. Prana stretch Zion pants are a true mix of comfort and durability that keep even myself coming back. A pant that can last 5-10 years and is by far one of the most versatile pants we carry I recommend this pant to anyone.

Pants lightweight and comfortable. Leg is extremely baggy.

August 23, 2020Best pants I've ever owned.
I recently bought this particular pair but I've been wearing the Stretch Zions for a few years -- 5 full length and 3 shorts. I wear them to my law firm, out to dinner, hiking in the woods, camping, working in the yard, traveling/sightseeing, everywhere really. For what I do with them (I don't climb), they're holding up amazingly well, don't shrink or fray or do anything funny,… read more and wash up beautifully. Super comfy, wear as cool as non-vented pants can be expected to, and the built-in belt/waist adjuster is greatly appreciated, and it doesn't twist up over time like most do. Fairly water-resistant (not water-PROOF), which I revive every year or so with some wash-in DWR treatment. I believe the leg length to be spot-on, and the waist sizing to run a bit on the large size, but the belt/adjuster allows a large degree of flexibility with that.

They just don't fit well at all. I'm an athletic 185 and have trouble finding pants that fit both my waist and thighs. Either the waist is massive, the thigh fits and looks like im wearing bell bottoms or i'm wearing skinny jeans (with bell bottoms). Which is disappointing because Prana are the best fitting jeans for me but apparently that fit doesn't translate to their hiking pants.

May 16, 2020My go to pant
These are by far my favorite pants, camping, skateboarding, climbing to causual wear these pants can do it all. Prana really does value their product and it goes to show in the zion pant by Prana.

May 11, 2020First pair of climbing specific pants
Being my first pair of climbing specific pants, I love them, and ask myself why I waited so long to make a purchase like this. They are lightweight, surprisingly durable, and yet are surprisingly warm on cool windy days. The leg zip pocket is really nice. The fit is very good, and it is nice not having to wear a belt with these pants. Would buy again.

April 9, 2020Awesome Pants
The Stretch Zion is an excellent pant for just about anything. I love the zip cargo and back pockets for extra security. The fabric is high quality/ stretchy and made from sustainable materials. What really sets this pant apart for me is the ability to roll and bottom up the bottom hems. This addition makes this an excellent four seasons pant.

March 18, 2020Favorite pants hands down.
Prana pants are without a doubt my favorite pants. I go through about 2-3 pants a month in the summer from skateboarding and just wear and tear. Prana's zion fabric however has never ripped or frayed on me. Big fan.

March 10, 2020Years keep passing, still tried and true
These showed up and in my normal fashion of not wearing pants around the house, I retrieved the box from the entry and dash back inside. I open the box, untie and unroll the pants, I slip them on and it is like slipping into any of the other pairs I own. My wife comes downstairs.. "When did you decide to put pants on? When did you get that color?" The majority of my pants are… read more from Prana and they are a definite go to company for my needs in being a short man and them offering their pants in a short inseam.

March 3, 2020Good as always
I love the stretch zion series so much that I do not believe I own any other type of pants. Soft, great fit and tough year after year and these are no different... however there seems to be something slightly off with this pair. Everything seems to be slightly larger. Front pockets are a bit deeper, the back pocket is slightly larger (I only mention this because I find myself constantly… read more checking for my wallet) and the legs at the bottom seem a bit more on the baggie side. It’s as though they took a previous pair and just added a bit of extra material. But with that said, they are still comfortable travel pants and great hiking pants and it was nice to see a new color come out.

February 4, 2020Excellent all around pants
Bought these pants for work, which involves hiking on and off trail in the mountains of Montana, and they've held up awesome. Incredibly light, comfortable, and breathable. They also dry out super fast after getting wet. Durability exceeds expectations, as I've abused the hell out of them (rocks, brush, fire). Love the sizing as well. I'll definitely buy more pairs in the future

January 31, 2020Do anything pants
These pants can do anything. I've climbed rocks and glaciers in them. I've waded rivers in them. I've worn them as work pants doing disaster response work. I've caught them on fire. Fire is the only thing they don't do well.

December 27, 2019Would have given 5 stars, but...
Compared to the Prana Bridger Jean pants, the Zion pants seem to be at least an inch or two shorter. I'm usually a 30/31 inseam, but the 33x30 Zion pants stop about 1-1.5 inches above my feet. Way too short for my liking, so I returned for a 33x32. Aside from inseam length, the waist fits perfect, pants are comfortable and quality material.

November 4, 2019Comfortable but casually appropriate
These pants are insanely comfortable. the material is extremely soft yet sturdy. They are very styley, but they do have a boot flair if you are looking for a straight legged pant i'd look else where. Plenty of room and forgivingness for all activities. I would go a bit longer in the inseam as they seem about 1 inch shorter than most of my jeans of the same length.

October 14, 2019Terrible climbing pants
I have high standards for gear, but these pants consistently did not meet my expectations or hopes, and I really can't see why everyone rates them so highly. All of my climbing/mountaineering friends also dislike them. They died in a year of use. Let's count the ways. 1. They stretch out rapidly over time. I got the 28in waist for my ~29 in waist, and within six months the pants… read more could easily fall past my butt. When climbing, this means that they were always falling below my harness, meaning blisters and rug-burn where the harness contacts my hips. The waist cinch was close to useless for countering this. 2. They are not durable. Mine got holes in them rapidly from chimneys, offwidths, and squeeze chimneys. Some holes are fine and a cost of awkward styles of climbing. But once the holes got to a certain size, they then caught on manzanita bushes while approaching and immediately blew the entire knee out (see photo). These pants to not discourage ripping very well at all. 3. Overall design is poor for climbing. Small things like the poorly positioned pockets (fine for hiking, bad for climbing) and even the buttons to hold the cuffs rolled up (which aren't useful and only get in the way when you want to wipe off your climbing shoes) mean that these pants really are annoying to climb in. I really wanted to like these pants. But every time I put them on, I was annoyed with them. This included being mad at them on The Nose on El Capitan, the Bugaboos of Canada, and other alpine adventures. I put them through the wringer. But I wager they would be nice pants for hanging around town or doing low-impact hiking.

March 29, 2017A stated by a few reviews these pants now run slightly longer. Can this be confirmed by more people/gearheads before I place my order? For reference, I typically wear 32x32 and the 32L usually drags on the floor for me but I like the look with shoes. However, I would not want it to drag too much like a 33L.

January 7, 2017I'm usually a 29 waist, but these pants are only offered in a 28 or 30 waist size. Do people recommend that I get them a little small or large? I see that they have a belt of some kind, so I'm thinking large, but I want to make sure.

September 7, 2016Hi, I bought a pair in size S/32 a year ago and they fit perfectly. Would a 31/32 be a comparable fit after the change to numerical sizing? Also, is it true that they changed the fit to be baggier in the legs as another reviewer mentioned? Hope not, they were perfect...

May 28, 2016Prana appears to make these in a 36 length as well. Can these be ordered through backcountry as well?

May 22, 2016Last year I bought Prana stretch zion pants with size M 32. but I noticed Prana Pants size system changed. So I wonder which size one I shoud choose for me. 32x 32 or 33 x 32?

December 28, 2015I want to get my husband a pair of these. As long as I've known him, he's been 32x32 (medium) in every brand and everything, but Prana's size chart leads me to believe he'd need a small (waist size "30"). Can anyone verify or clarify this? He usually wears his pants a bit tight, but this might be due to his soccer player build. I guess I'm wondering if all the reviewers who say… read more it fits "true to size" mean according to Prana's size chart, or according to their normal size...these are obviously different.

November 28, 2015What does the number indicate after the letter? Is that the inseam or waist? i.e. a S-30 will get me a waist of 32 but a length of 30 and a S-32 will get me a 32/32?

November 24, 2015Any ladies out there that rock these for climbing (or otherwise?) I'm in the market for some climbing pants, not partial to mens clothes, but here they are, and one sale. .. men's prana has fit me in the past, just curious about ladies experience with these pants. thanks!

October 15, 2015I'm a short guy that typically wears a 28"-29" inseam. What are my options here, cuff the bottoms of a pair of 30"?

October 13, 2015I want to buy these for my husband but how can you tell which inseam is which? He is a 32X30

October 6, 2015Hi, these look great for my boyfriend who enjoys camping and climbing. He's 5'8, 135 pounds, 30" waist. Which size should I order?? thanks!

November 29, 2014I'm 5'9' 140 lbs, what size should I get? Pretty consistently a waist 32 across other brands. Sounds like prana has been changing up the sizing. My older prana pants from ~2005 say M on the tag, and I think it was either 32 or 30 inseam....they fit very well.

May 19, 2014Did they change the fit of these pants...
Did they change the fit of these pants this year? I bought a pair last year that had a slimmer fit. I just bought the same size pair last month and they were baggy.
