POC Fornix Helmet reviews and deals for sale
After the wild success of aramid bridge technology in its mountain bike helmets, POC integrated the same technology into the winter Fornix Helmet. Aramid bridge construction offers massive energy dispersion during impact while keeping the helmet shell lightweight and comfortable on your head. As a crowning touch, the Fornix helmet includes an adjustable venting system that pulls hot air and moisture away from your head with lightning speed and ultimate efficiency.

POC Fornix Helmet Reviews

January 28, 2020Runs Small
I'm right on the edge of the XS/S at 54cm. I ordered a small and it was way too tight, if you're on the upper end of one size I would size up.

This is the best POC helmet for skiing. Safe with out the bulk. I always pair wit with a set of POC goggles for the ultimate fit. Highly recommend

February 25, 2019Great fit, great color
I gave this to my brother for Christmas. He was reluctant to get any helmet as he has snowboarded most his life without one, but he got used to the comfort and safety of wearing a helmet almost immediately. He has a bigger noggin so the xl/xxl was perfect for him, and he has loved his Poc helmet ever since the first day wearing it! (and so do my mom and his wife)

July 3, 2018POC Helmet Buckle Failure
I am seasoned skier and mountaineer for the last 20 years. And using a POC helmet i had a serious accident where the neck buckle of my POC helmet fail. By this i had a unvoluntare release of my helmet causing me serious injuries. I cant be more disapointed about not only this helmet, but also this brand. I had no answer, no support... after several emails. I strongly recomed… read more anyone that is serious about their head to buy another brand with a better buckle system., The one used in POC is cheap and lacks of desing. POC is mostly about fashion. I know that is one in a million chance to have an hyperflexion of the neck throwards your chest and cause excess preasure of the buckle and having release of the helmet. BUT, i think nowadays there is a HUGE offer of helmets and people should care about having the one that will remain attached to their head. The buckle is the one used in this helmet. Be SAFE

January 8, 2018Great Helmet!
Quality Helmet. Poc has been doing a great job at making helmets that not only look great, but do there job as well. I definitely have taken a few slams while wearing the fornix and it has held up great.

Fits well, not too bulky that it makes your head hot.

February 2, 2017Hard hat
This is a nice helmet. I like that it is simple looking. It pairs well with Oakley flight deck goggles.

January 5, 2017Comfy, poor finishing
Really nice fit, comfy, forget that I'm wearing it. Some shabby construction though which was not what I expected from POC. Chin strap has frayed after a few days and helmet transfers/logo has mostly peeled off, which makes the lid look shabby. Is POC quality being compromised by it's growth?

January 2, 2017It fits!
My head measures about 57.5cm +/-, depending on where the measuring tape sits, and the M/L fits perfectly. I was a bit worried about the sizing because POC apparently fits a round head better than an oval one and I'm guessing I'm more in the oval camp. I had the opportunity to briefly try on both the Receptor Bug and Fornix Backcountry in the same size before ordering and my memory… read more is that the Receptor felt roomier than the Fornix whereas the Fornix Backcountry felt snug, particularly around the ear pieces. Not sure if there's an actual difference in internal shape/roundness between the three helmets or if it's just differences in padding but that was my experience. I wear Anon M2 goggles and they pair well. No gap. Great helmet!

November 30, 2016Super Stoked
Got this as a gift but have feedback to share: "Tried out a friend's POC helmet last season and loved it - I couldn't stop thinking about how I wanted my own! Stoked to put this to use this season. I got the matte black which is awesome. My head is 22 inches and the M/L fits great even with a thin hat underneath. Works well with my Spy goggles as well."

March 1, 2016Great dome bucket
Light enough to not be a bummer in the back country, burly enough for the resort. I've taken a few dings to the head and now I don't ski without a helmet. I wanted something that could take a beating but is still light and packable enough for touring and this has been great.

February 19, 2016Great helmet for my big noggin.
Fits my round head well. I've got the XL/XXL size in red. Super comfortable. Easy to use the vents. Doesn't make my goggles fog nonstop like my previous helmet did.

February 9, 2016Light but easily blemished and NOT matte
I wish they'd post actual pictures of the product and not stock because I ordered this thinking it would be a matte black color but it was extremely glossy and product came with scratches and blemishes. The entire helmet seems to be covered with a very thin plastic wrap, making it glossy and obviously easily scratched/damaged. Right now I'm debating as to whether or not to return… read more it but given how flimsy the coating looks on the helmet, I'm inclined to believe that all helmets will have blemishes upon arrival... With that said, I'm sure the product will protect your head fine though but don't expect to look fresh on the slopes... In my picture, you can see a huge defect which I assume occurred when the plastic coating didn't get put on the helmet correctly during manufacturing... With POC helmets being more expensive than others, I at least expected manufacturing to be on point...

January 30, 2016Runs really small
My head is 57" and the M/L was too small up top. I'd recommend sizing up. Overall seems like a great helmet though. Going to get the XL to see how that fits...

January 26, 2016great helmet
Not sure where the reviews are coming from saying this helmet is warm. I used it on a 15F day and was so cold I had to buy a liner. The helmet is very light and comfortable tho, forget I'm wearing it. Also I ordered the grey and thought they sent me the blue. Just be aware the grey is mostly blue.

January 31, 2015Perfect Helmet
The Fornix is a really well built helmet. Super light weight. Low profile. It's adjustable. The earmuffs are low profile as well. Adjustable vents. Plus it fits perfect with my Anon M2 goggles. I really enjoy riding with this helmet. I always forget it's on. I have tried other brands. None of them can compare to the POC Fornix!

Does anyone know if the Fornix MIPS version will feel slightly smaller with the plastic liner? This was the case when I bought a POC MIPS bike helmet. So much smaller I had to send it back. I'm holding out for the Fornix MIPS. But I'm wondering if I will need the L/XL?
