POC Crave Sunglasses reviews and deals for sale

Framed sunnies are still in style, despite the prevalence of the futuristic mirrored frameless models that have become increasingly popular as of late. No one supports a lightweight framed lens more than POC, and its Crave Sunglasses are one of many in POC's line that embrace the framed look, albeit on a modern scale. Modern, in this case, means lightweight grilamid frames surrounding Carl Zeiss polycarbonate lenses that are available in a wide range of tints to match to the most common conditions you ride in.

The grilamid on the frame is actually flexible, and while it won't allow you to roll-up the Crave and put it in your saddle pack, it does help prevent cracks and damage from everyday use. On hot days when the wind stops as you're in the middle of a sunny, never-ending climb, the hydrophilic rubber nose and earpieces on the frames will keep them from moving around as you work up a sweat, because there's nothing more frustrating than having to take a hand off the bars every few seconds to shove a pair of wandering sunglasses back onto your nose when you're already working hard.

POC's choice of Carl Zeiss lenses also ensures that the Crave will give you consistent visibility, even on days when the weather is less than optimal. A Ripel treatment on the lenses repels dirt, resists fogging, and blocks grime so you don't get stuck on the side of the road wiping off your lenses mid-ride.

Poor response for POC sports about lens

I like POC sport products but really disappointed with there customer service. I have two pair of Crave sunglasses and a helmet. After only one month I noted a crack in the mirror surface of my Crave sunglasses. I always kept them in the cloth bag after using them and never dropped or scratched them but they developed a crack only in the mirror surface. I contacted POC sports via read more there warranty form online. They took a long time to respond but it is COVID pandemic. What was disappointing was did were not very interested in the problem. After a second email they only offered 30% off the cost of a new lens which is 120 dollars as compensation. Not sure if I am going to bother to replace them for almost 100 dollars.

It's called Clarity for a reason

For reference, I went with the Uranium Black Translucent frame and Grey/Brown/Light Silver Mirror lens. Paired with the Axion SPIN helmet from POC, the fit is seamless, just as advertised. While I can slide these into the vents on top for storage, I wouldn't recommend doing so while riding. Clarity is the perfect name for these lenses, as you can barely tell you're looking through read more a lens. While a bit light in the open, they're perfect for trail riding, allowing clear vision as you ride in and out of the shadows. Riding on both smooth buffed out trails and steep rooty descents, they've stayed in place quite well so far. On the real rough sections, they do bounce around a bit, but I've yet to find a pair that truly stay in place. Hence the 4-star review, though honestly, might just be the shape of my face. The only other minor complaint is due to the "frame" on the bottom of the lens, which allows for sweat to pool slightly. You might also not be keen on the price point, however, I'm a firm believer in you pay for quality, and so far, I'm impressed with the quality of these sunglasses. I took a couple of diggers and they stayed on my face and held up to the dust/dirt kicked up. If you wear a POC helmet, no reason not to pair them with the Crave sunglasses.

The Speed

Can't explain how fast I'm going in these things. Love them! Nice lenses, great fit, and a good style. Durability seems to be strong here too. Love POC!

Not as dark as picture.

Style is still tough to get behind - but my taste is a bit simple. These do the job and don’t fog easily. Great field of vision.

These make me faster... No doubt

These fit great and are super light. Love the lens and how nicely this fits my face. Fits great with my Kali Maya helmet as well. And.... they definitely make me faster hahaha... They also make me look cool as well! Super easy to swap the lens to dial in your sun protection. Can't go wrong with the Crave!

Different is good

I just wanted something a little outside of the norm and I figure since I love my POC Octal, why not give their sunglasses a try? Glad I did. These fit really nicely and have a very clean and unique look when you are riding. Probably wouldn't be my first pick for casual wear, but for cycling they are amazing. I highly recommend them.

Grew on me...

I wasn’t sure about these at first. I ride a POC Tectal helmet and tried to go with Oakley at first...didn’t fit with the low temple on my helmet so I decided to order the glasses made specifically for this helmet. The fit felt strange at first. I debated another return but then HAD to get out and ride and decided that it was better than another big in my eye ;) and I read more really really like these shades. The flexible frame found its comfort zone! Great coverage and super clarity. I look like a 70’s mountain biking disco dancer, and I kind of dig that. Recommend.

Crisp and Clear Riding

I recently picked up the Poc Tectal helmet, so I decided to pick up these Craves as well. The combine perfectly and look great together. The lens on these are scary crisp/clear and the wide coverage protects your eyes when the trail is dusty or when you are following someone closely. The ventilation could be improved, but once I get riding all fogging clears up.

POC Crave Sunglasses

These shades rock. It feels like there is a windshield across your face. No unwanted sunlight creeps in through the edges and they feel extremely light but snug on your face/ears. A really sweet feature is that the arms pop off of the lens extremely easily but clicks in tightly. This is great for cleaning the lens, but it's a really sweet feature in the event of a crash, the glasses read more with pop off of your face instead of digging into your head/eyes.

nice shades, just didn't work for me

I was really excited for these after being super stoked with my Octal X helmet, but they didn't work out, so I returned them after trying them on and wearing them around the house and in the backyard for a bit. The fit was off in several ways. The arms hit the helmet where it drops down behind my ears, and made the glasses move around on my face. POC helmets have always had sunglass read more conflicts for me, and that is one of the main reasons I tried the POC shades, because they are supposed to be compatible with the POC helmets. Yes, I know these are designed for the Tectal helmet, but I thought they would work on the Octal X as well. They didn't, at least not for me. The large 70s-style frames also pushed down on the sides of my nose. And they felt a little heavier than I expected. I just couldn't get comfortable with them. I had high hopes for the Carl Zeiss lenses, but no real wow factor there. The 58% VLT was too light as well, even though they were billed as being perfect for desert trails, which is pretty much my backyard. I would rather go with something in the 15-35% range for normal/sunny days or just get clear lenses for my morning commute and lower-light riding. I'm still considering a set of the DO Half Blade glasses. I'm thinking they will be a better fit for the Octal X, be lighter, and I would try a darker lens (and I understand they might even come with a clear lens to swap out). But I'll probably wait a bit before trying POC shades again.

Great wind protection, field of vision

Took these on a pretty head-windy spin yesterday and was really impressed with how they kept that wind out of my eyes. Now if they could only keep it from slowing me down.... I also really love the visibility they provide - great peripheral vision, and I don't feel like I have to crane my neck to see under their upper rim, if that makes sense. I will say that I ordered the "hydrogen read more white/navy black, brown/bronze mirror" option, and while the description is correct, the photo (as of this writing) is not; the blue on the rims is much darker than in the photo, and the lenses are definitely bronze/amber, not light blue. Just FYI if you are thinking of ordering the same ones.

Nice Shades!

I was initially scared off by price but after doing research on the product and the brand, I took the leap. These are great glasses. They are light and true to description, are grippy where they need to be. I ride a with Catlike helmet and there were no fit issues. The tint is great and the clarity is better than any glasses I have ever owned including Oakley and Ray-Ban.
