Pivot Shuttle Team XTR e-Bike reviews and deals for sale
We wouldn't hesitate to name the Pivot Shuttle as a benchmark in the world of e-MTB's, considering it offers the same performance and handling as Pivot's world-class mountain bikes, but in a boosted package that helps you ride further, ride faster, and explore new trails off the beaten path. To preserve its reputation as one of the finest e-bikes on the market, Pivot gives the shuttle a host of functional updates including Shimano's newly-refined EP8 motor, a massive battery to extend your riding range, and an updated build kit with a Fox 38 e-specific fork that greatly improves front-end stiffness for the aggressive riding the Shuttle is intended for.
Shimano's new EP8 drive unit offers 10Nm greater torque than the previous motor, with an updated Trail mode that applies this torque in a more usable manner for any given terrain. This gives us improved traction on steep, rooty climbs, as the motor is less likely to spin out due to an overload of torque. The EP8 motor is more energy efficient too, and combined with Pivot's new larger 726Wh battery, ride times are extended significantly. Pivot's independent testing consistently yielded 3 - 4 hours of battery life when using a mix of Eco, Trail, and Boost modes. Riders who use their pedal-assist conservatively can expect even longer battery life, whereas riders who want to maximize their speed by using Boost mode can still expect a few solid hours of ride time. Should you need even more range, two easy-access bolts let you remove the battery and replace it with a freshly charged one in minutes.
The Shuttle rolls on speedy 29-inch wheels, and features a slacked-out 64.3-degree head tube angle to keep things stable when you're moving at higher speeds or navigating steeper downhill trails. At the same time, short chainstays and the efficient DW-Link suspension keep things snappy and nimble for cornering and climbing. 5.5-inches of rear travel paired with a 6.1-inch travel Fox 38 fork is more than enough to tackle any rocks, roots, and drops you find on the trail, while the Shimano XTR drivetrain brings best-in-class shifting performance to the equation.
