Petzl Meteor Climbing Helmet reviews and deals for sale
Go higher and ski deeper with the Petzl Meteor Helmet, designed specifically with ski mountaineering in mind. Large vents throughout the helmet help circulate air to keep your noggin cool while working through the crux sequence, and dual adjustments create space for adding a beanie when your core temp cools as you transition to ski out in late spring corn. Petzl worked to gain certifications for ski touring safety and lead falls while climbing to make this helmet the piece-de-la-resistance in any ski mountaineering setup.

November 7, 2020Great lightweight comfy helmet
The helmet itself is light, comfortable, and well ventilated. It also has a thin plastic shell to help protect the softer foam from the kind of light touch damage the bd vapor and vector suffer from. It even comes with a bag! The bag is a joke however. It only fits about 2/3 of the helmet. We've tried all orientations, and the only way the helmet almost fits is crown down, with… read more the opening by the opening, but even then you can't close the bag. The bag is a cheap material anyway. You'd think they would have sprung for an extra 2ยข worth of material to actually cover the helmet, or not include the joke of a bag at all.

July 5, 2020Comfortable, light helemt
This is not only a super light and comfortable helmet, it is very durable. I bang it up quite a bit, but it still doesn't have dents. I like the clips for ski goggles or a headlamp, as it's easy to put on and feels secure. The one flaw is that the magnetic buckle on the helmet strap collects dirt and can get in the way of buckling it sometimes. Can be quite annoying.

July 9, 2019Lightweight, but design flaws
The magnetic buckle really ruins it all. Tiny rocks and grey rocky dust builds up on the buckle and it just doesn't stay buckled up. I have to blow on it, and wipe it with my thumb to clean it just enough that it "crunches" together. The slider bar for the back-of-the-head adjustment has a little 2mm notch of plastic that digs into my head when tightened down. I'm sure you can… read more file it down, but that's also an annoyance. I have a little scab at the base of my skull because of the helmet. It's really lightweight and provides great coverage. If they fix these small design flaws, would be happy to continue to use this. But as it is, I'd rather use other light-weight foam helmets.

May 29, 2019Fits my kid (11) and she loves it!
Needless to say you want to keep your child safe out there. We just graduated from the Petzl Picchu which was heavy and awkward. Our primary concern being fit and comfort (so that she will actually wear it), we were delighted when she had it fit to herself perfectly within about a minute after opening the box, and she is very picky about fit. Since I don't plan on or wish to review… read more this item after a verified impact I am happy to give it 5 stars for the obvious quality and comfort that this helmet provides. It also sits down around her head in an unobstructed way obviously providing the side impact protection as advertised. It is also stable, as opposed to the Picchu which shifts all over the place. The sizing guide was also perfect. We went with the S/M.

May 4, 2019Almost perfect. Please change the buckle
Almost perfect with one infuriating flaw: the magnetic buckle collects ferrous dust and prevents secure closure. Supposedly you can remove the magnet but you might break the buckle. I broke mine during normal use. I had it come unbuckled countless times over a year of use. Just replaced the buckle with a standard one from a backpack and now the helmet is pretty much perfect. Ideal… read more combo of low weight, durability, and low cost.
