Second Hand

Ages ago, when I was still naive(but not too naive to know I had stumbled upon something special), I found one of these Pendelton Shetland sweaters second hand at a thrift store. By then the wool had softened and the sweater had a few minuscule holes in it. The Shetland proved comfortable in a wide variety of conditions and scenarios. It appeared humble(yet classy) for everything read more from quiet evenings in the foyer with a pipe and a book, to spring days spent kicking through the Uintas on the 'ol 3 pin boots and skis. The Shetland quickly become one of my most prized possessions. Unfortunately a couple of seasons back I had to put my beloved sweater down as it became much too stricken with holes to provide adequate service in the field. Who knows what kind of past life the sweater had before I shared a 10 year romance with it. Ah yes I remember it well...winter and shoulder season days spent in the mountains and nights out on the town spent in dark corners of quiet bars. The Shetland was my go to for just about every occasion for all but the hot summer months. In my search for a suitable replacement it came as no surprise that Pendelton is still producing the legendary yet unassuming and timeless sweater! I might have to pick up a couple of these so I'm not wearing the same thing everyday for 5 months on end!

Not Cashmere

This is not a cashmere sweater. It is old school scratchy wool that you need a nice long sleeve undershirt. As advertised this thing is warm and if you plan on staying most of the day in the office or indoors this maybe a little too warm for you.

Comfy sweater.

Super warm and comfortable sweater for cold, winter days. It is a tiny bit itchy, but jsut wear a long-sleeve shirt under it and you're set. Plus, the fit is perfect.

Get what you expect

I ordered this in a medium and it fits great. As others said, it is scratchy but I wear a long sleeve shirt under and stay super warm. Perfect sweater for colder winter days.

Super Warm

For a guy that typically wears size large the large in this fits perfectly. It is super duper warm. However, it is a classic wool sweater, it's itchy if directly against the skin. If you can pretend it's giving you a tiny massage that's great, it has a nice feel. I wear a t-shirt under it and the itch is there but not so bad it's unbearable. All in all I like this very much and read more I'm sure it's going to last a long, long time.

Itchy Comfy!!!

True to real wool it is itchy, but I love it. For those who don't like the itchy of wool, wear a long sleeve base layer. Very warm but temperate; never too hot, never too cool... just right. Breathes well without being drafty. Most knits I hate because they are not tight enough and tend to allow air to easily pass through. Fit worked well for me, I prefer it to be on the boxy read more side. Arms are long for the tall fella's. All in all, very happy with it.
