Cool as a Cucumber & Sans Stank

I wore the Tropic Comfort Crew on a bike trip in Fruita, Colorado this month, and it was really put to the test. The desert met us with extreme weather -- high solar radiation, insane winds, sand everywhere, all on top of pushing ourselves to the limit physically. I wanted to protect my skin from the sun, but didn't want to overheat from being covered up. The Tropic Comfort Crew read more did an amazing job of reflecting UV rays while remaining breathable, lightweight, and moisture wicking for the steep climbs we encountered. The sleeves also fit well under elbow pads. Another great feature of the Tropic Comfort is that it's treated with Polygiene, which is a silver/sodium based eco-friendly/ antimicrobial solution that is integrated into the fibers of the shirt. Polygiene keeps odor causing bacteria at bay, and I was able to witness first hand how effective it is! We were out there for 4 nights and did not have the privilege of showering -- it was too cold on the days when the wind was calm, and too windy on the hot days. So we resorted to sponge baths and hanging our clothes from the car window. I performed the 'sniff test' on all of the clothes I wore -- the Tropic Crew was by far the most subtle smelling out of all of them! Even by day 3 the odor was minimal (at least compared to everything else). If you're looking for a sunshirt that will protect you from harsh sun but keep you cool, the Tropic Comfort is an excellent choice! This will be a staple piece of clothing in my adventure gear for years to come. Cons: The shirt runs long, but otherwise I love the relaxed fit to it. I would also do away with the back pocket, but that didn't get in the way of anything. I was able to tuck the hem into all of my bike shorts/pants while remaining comfortable. (Height: 5'1 . Weight: 105 lbs. Size: XS)

Runs a little bit

I ordered a medium and find it to be a bit baggy. Not to baggy that I will bother with returning it, but baggy enough that I could have gotten a small. I like the color and the soft fabric.

Silky smooth

I love the classic look and feel to this shirt, and the silky material is a bonus. Drapes nicely, blocks UV rays. A little large, but that's typical with most Patagonia items I find. The white was very sheer, so I exchanged for the gray.

great shirt

Super comfortable, moisture-wicking fabric perfect nearly all year. Great for layering under a vest. Sleeves are a little long for me, so I just roll them. Like the longer length--keeps me covered even when bending over.

Necessary for Water Recreators

As a petite outdoors woman, I've struggled to find clothing that fits both me and my adventures! Patagonia is the only brand that I've found works for my size, and truly fits. I've worn this particular shirt on all-day whitewater rafting, boating, swimming and paddleboarding excursions. It is perfect for sun protection in the heat (I tolerated about 80 degrees & then would wet it). read more It's fast drying, light weight and comfortable: I would highly recommend it!

Great sun shirt!

Patagonia makes shirts for women who are built like boys (no hips), so I had to order a large. It's a bit big, but I love it. I bought it for biking the bridge in Charleston, SC. I like to bike in the middle of the day when it's 90 degrees and 80% humidity - steamy. While wearing the Tropic isn't quite like wearing a tank top, I never get overheated and the breeze goes right through read more the shirt. Best of all, my arms don't get fried in the sun. Even standing still on the asphalt, without a breeze, is tolerable. It wicks sweat away fast. I'm really impressed. At the end of two hours of biking in the blazing sun my sleeves are still cool to the touch.

Looks great

I bought this shirt primarily for sun protection, since it is advertised as such. It is a very nice looking shirt - definitely one of my better looking long sleeve poly LS shirts. Now I may be too critical since I live in Texas where the temps can easily be 90's -- I don't know how much of an "airy cool refuge" it will be here, as it is polyester and a bit heavier than I imagined read more it would be. Also, the sleeves are not loose, so it does have that "cling-to" polyester feel. However, it should live up to its UPF 50 and its anti-microbial claim, so it will be a keeper.

There's a fish on it, but that's cool

I had no idea that this shirt had a large fish on the back of it, but it's included in the picture (my bad) I was expecting a loose fit shirt, but it's more of a fitted style. The material is ultra soft and comfy! I've been running in the shirt and it's a great light weight layer that is thin enough to fit into my fanny pack when it gets hot out!

Shreds.

Favorite mountain bike shirt. Fits a bit more generously than other Patagonia tech T's, which allows for good air flow and more coverage on the back. You can also a achieve a more downhill look, if that is what you are after. The raglan sleeves help too. The back zipper pocket comes in handy for snacks, keys, end emergency TP. Tropic comfort also slays on a paddle board and in read more hiking boots. Photo: Beach break while mountain biking in Jamaica with the hubby. Tropic comfort lived up to it's name!

Dope.

Bought this as a gift. She loves it. The back pocket is awesome for her chap stick and other small items. She loves how super comfy and how it fits.

Love it

This shirt is so comfortable, lightweight, moisture-wicking. My only complaint is that the sleeves are a tad long. I roll them a couple inches, and I don't think my arms are particularly short.
