Patagonia Stormfront 10L Hip Pack reviews and deals for sale

Whether it's deliberate or unintentional, you've waded to the middle of the river and the water is tickling your upper chest. Good thing you sprung for the waterproof Patagonia Stormfront Hip Pack, otherwise you'd soon be suffering through rapidly rusting flies and soggy tippet spool labels. This waterproof and lightweight hip pack was designed to withstand being submerged and repeated exposure to lots and lots of water. When your angling escapades don't require a full daypack, this rugged hip pack gives your gear a diry ride.

Rugged nylon won't falter in the face of barbed wire (are you sure you're allowed to fish here?) or thorny blackberry bushes. The fabric resists liquid entreaties due to fully welded seams, a polyurethane coating on the exterior, and a TPU coating on the  interior. The only way water sneaks inside is if you unzip this pack and leave it open in the middle of a rainstorm. The 3D spacer mesh belt and back panel minimize excess moisture from amassing at your lower back, taking away the chances of chafing. The belt offers multiple adjustments to prevent the pack from sagging in the back..

The padded shoulder strap lets you sling this bag across your chest when you're racing to dock. Interior zippered pockets prevent your keys and phone from commingling with each other, let alone your fly boxes. Rod tube holders let you transport your prized possession safely. Be it surf spray, a deluge of biblical proportions, or guerrilla waves that take you down, your flies and gear will stay dry in this waterproof hip pack.

Tough and right size

This bag is built out of very durable components. Zippers are heavy duty as is the waterproof fabric. Works really well for keeping in the boat for securing and protecting gear that will be used for occasional out of boat stops.

Great pack

Great minimalist pack. Light weight, easy to get comfortable and best of all, keeps your gear dry when take that unintended slip/fall into the river. Like it A LOT

BOMBER!!

This thing is amazing. I have been fishing a simms hip pack for the past few months and wanted something a little bigger and waterproof. This was a natural choice. I LOVE it. It is super comfortable to wear and fits everything I need. I can throw big fly boxes in there and a sandwich for the day and still have room. Its my go to hip pack for long days on the water. The only down read more side is the zipper is fairly hard to close and you have to make sure it closes all the way or water will get in. It also doesn't have much internal pocketing or organization which can be kinda frustrating. Everything that goes into the pack goes into one big pocket which can make it hard to find smaller things in a hurry. Overall, I love this thing to death. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up at tflitton@backcountry.com or 1-800-409-4502 ext 4793

saw it first hand

*I personally have not used this product*.......but i fished with a guide for 3 days who used it every day and swore by it. In it he kept 2 giant fly boxes (if u have fished with a guide u know what i mean), guide sized tippet spools, all the extras (splitty, bobbers, hemostat etc), water, and some snacks. The outside has a few loops for your rod if you are hiking. The bag is read more waterproof with waterproof zippers and will hold up just fine to general fishing/boating use. Zippers appeared easy to use. FWIW, the guide has beaten the crap out of this thing, and it was still waterproof and functioning just fine. I'm giving it 5 stars based on the guide's feedback and what i saw while fishing with him. Again, i did not use/wear this personally but i dont think that should detract from the review. I put 'true to size' but i can't say for sure. I know its somewhat adjustable, the guide i fished with was probably 5'7 and 150lbs soaking wet and he didn't have any problems.

Is this pack comfortable when resting on the FRONT of one's waist? Is the waist strap detachable? And if so, does the body of the pack have a belt loop that would allow me to attach it to the belt straps on my backpack? Thanks!
