Patagonia Stealth 6L Hip Pack reviews and deals for sale

Forget lugging around an oversized pack on the river, especially if you're just out for a few hours after work or squeezing in a quick morning session. Instead, grab the Patagonia Stealth Hip Pack for compact organization of all your flies, tippets, and fishing accessories without the hefty size and back-straining discomfort of a larger pack.

The Stealth Hip Pack employs Cordura fabric for rugged quality, complete with a water-resistant finish that repels river water from seeping through. It's reinforced with a stretch-woven back panel that conforms to your movements without prematurely ripping or fraying. YKK zippers not only keep water out, but they provide smooth operation for years to come.

Looking into its storage capabilities, you'll find a fold-down front panel with interior fly keeper and roomy internal compartment for storing multiple fly boxes. Additionally, you'll find a mesh-lined security pocket and external tippet spool holder, as well as dual bottle holders for keeping your favorite beverage close at hand.

Patagonia hip pack

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my best friend. It has many storage compartments and comes with its own patch to hold flies. The only complaint is he wishes that it was waterproof.

Little bulky

Overall, it is a good product and serves the intended purpose well. Despite being a hip pack, it is not diminutive. In fact, it is larger than I expected it to be. The various zippered pockets help to organize gear, but I don’t find the foam inserts that provide bulk to the piece altogether necessary. If Patagonia had left them out, the pack would function as well and would read more shed some of the unnecessary bulk. The water bottle pockets are decently sized, but shallow enough to hold gear in an accessible fashion when they’re not holding water bottles. I would purchase this item again, but would give consideration to a pack with less foam structure.

Great for day trips

Really happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. It got a lot of space to fit multiple fly boxes and I can even stuff a lightweight puffer for when it gets chilly at night. My favorite part about it is the front panel. I pre -load it with my go to streamers and dries for quick changes on the river.

Durable, convenient

I've been using this hip pack for years, and the beer holders have made countless people jealous. This pack is big enough for a day on the water, and the hip design keeps everything handy yet out of your way while casting. I've had several friends switch from a sling pack to a hip pack and I always recommend this model.

cool and comfortable

This hip pack is everything that I needed. I like to keep it pretty simple when out fishing. I can hold all my tools and tippet, flies and tons of other things without it feeling over packed. The fold-out front panel with the foam fly holder is really convenient when switching up flies, and the beer holders are a nice touch. I really like this hip pack and I would definitely recommend read more it if you're in the market for a simple yet functional pack.

Great Day Pack

I have been using this pack for most of the summer and I like it a lot. I find that it is a lot more comfortable than a vest or sling pack. It is really comfortable to wear and carries enough for a 1/2 day of fishing. I don't use the neck strap since the pack says up will on its own on me. Hold .75 liter of water and a snack so I don't have to go back to the truck for a few hours. read more All necessities for a day of fishing easily fit in the pack. I can get two medium fly boxes in it and a 5wt spool if I push it to its limit. My only complaint is I wish that it has a couple more small attachment points.

Awesome pack / camera bag

Designed for fly fishing, I use it as a camera bag and it works great. It’s stuffed with Canon Eos Rebel T6i with 18-55 lens, two conversion lenses, cleaning gear, manual, and still plenty of room for my phone, keys and a snack. (Sorry, no room with flash attached, not a problem for me). The hard front and padded rear packaged in a lightweight, versatile hip/shoulder pack make read more this perfect for hiking, cub scouts events, little league games, etc to keep camera, phone, snacks, and other essentials handy while not having to worry about damage. Thanks again, Patagonia, and to Backcountry for the great service!

Updates!

I have been using the Stealth series hip pack for years. When my beloved stealth got stolen out of the car earlier this year, Patagonia was kind enough to hook me up with this new version to test out. I have a few days of guiding on it, as well as a lot of personal fishing. The main update is the fabric material. Bringing in tech from their Ascenionist/Descensionist pack line read more the outer fabric is a tough and lightweight Cordura that keeps the weight down, but is really tough. For me the biggest benefit is it makes the pack more pliable and I find that it hugs the body a bit more. I don't like wearing the shoulder strap with these packs so this is a huge advantage to keep the pack in place. The pocket configuration is more streamlined and all you need for a day on the river. The hip pockets hold strike indicators or floatant for quick access. I have tried so many packs and vest over the years. While I haven't found the perfect pack, this one is really close for a day of fishing.

shoulder strap love

This is a great hip pack and the shoulder option makes it really versatile. I purchased this for my son and he loves it for day trips to the river.

The Best

I love this pack. If you need more than you can carry in this, you're doing something wrong. Comfortable without being bulky. I think it looks nice too. Can holders are nice and I end up keeping most of my tippet spools in one of them. I hate shit dangling off my pack thus I don't like most tippet spool holders. Really happy with how well this works on this pack. It dries relatively read more quickly after a deep wade, or bouncing around in the bottom of the boat. I have tried most of the hip packs on the market and this is the only one I really enjoy using.

a bag to rule them all

For Fly Fishing, backpacking, and any other active adventure activity you can imagine, this chest/hip all around bag is for you. The cup holder is bonus for your down time relaxation. A couple features I absolutely love are the magnetic for maintaining control of metal items while clipped to the outside of the pack like tippet snippers or some other fly-fishing tools, as well as read more the table top/workbench incorporated to the outer hard box pocket.

Took it to the Bahamas for bone fishing, held up very fell. Great function for multiple days of fishing with multiple compartments and comfortable fit around the waist

Not a VR Headset

Warning this is not a VR Headset. There are no lenses and yes you can put your phone in it but not for virtual reality experiences. Though it may look like a VR headset, and VR is very exciting, this has no lenses and will not enable '3D' virtual reality viewing.

Day trip perfection

Patagonia nailed it with this bag. It has plenty of room for a days worth of supplies on the river. The construction and materials are typical Patagonia quality. You can carry a few river sodas too. Everything you need for a day on the river, nothing you don't need.

Great quality

I'm really impressed with the quality of this bag - the zippers are sturdy, padding is in just the right places, and is somehow insanely spacious on the inside without being bulky outside. Highly recommended.

Once you go Hip Pack....

As a recent convert from the traditional fly fishing vest to the hip pack I have to say that I am very stoked with my decision! Two H2o/beer holders, supportive hip belt with mesh paneling, an over the shoulder strap, various pockets and a sleek (or should I say) stealthy design makes this one of the best packs out there. Only downside to the pack is the shoulder strap can dig read more in and become slightly uncomfortable after hours of use with a heavier than average load. Soooo many pockets and organization with velcro in the inside make this pack very versatile and adaptable to however you prefer your setup to be in a pack. From short day trips to longer weekends, I have found this pack to be perfect for everything that I need! I don't ever foresee myself running out of room anytime soon (so much room for activities!) Plus, the lifetime warranty... sheesh what else do you want?! Go with Patagonia - it's always the right call.

Almost perfect

This is the perfect sized pack for any day out on the river. It has well thought out pocket placement, plenty of storage for a bevy of fly boxes. The hip belt pockets are fantastic and plenty of loops and attachment points. Enough room in the main compartment for a light jacket or a few beers. As well as two bottle pockets and a rigging station. The only thing I really wish it had read more was a small water proof pocket for a phone , keys or anything you don't want to get wet. Other than that it's everything I want in a hip pack.
