Weird sizing

I agree with the odd fit. Kind of boxy, definitely too big. I will be returning for a size XS to see if thats better. A littler longer than I would like too but its cozy and I really want to like it

This vest is comfortable, warm and durable. A great casual piece or an extra layer when you need some additional warmth. A bit boxier than I normally would like.

So Cozy!

I absolutely love this vest! I ordered a Large and have plenty of room to layer the vest over my Fjord Flannel or a thicker sweater. The Pelican color goes with everything and I get tons of compliments every time I wear it! The weight is perfect when it's paired with a flannel on a chilly Fall day.

Cute vest but sizing is odd

I had been eyeing this vest for months, and finally brought myself to purchase it for the fall. I am a pretty solid medium in all things Patagonia. However, this vest fit really weird. The length was perfect, but the rest of the vest was too large a boxy. I am normally ok with wearing vests that are a little big, so that I can wear them over flannel or sweatshirts, but this one… read more fit me all wrong. I also tried on the women's small, and it fit better but was too short. I may try to get men's small and see if that gives me a better fit. Such a bummer, because the colors are perfect for my fall wardrobe. This is a super cute vest. I would definitely recommend sizing down and possibly trying on a men's if the women's fits you weird.

Finally found the right Patagonia vest.

This is a great vest and I have it on as I'm writing this. Super comfortable and fits like a glove. I have tried several others and returned them all (Los Gatos, hooded and not, Synchilla, Nano Air, to mention some). The fit and comfort level didn't meet my expectations, especially for the price. The reviews on this one with regard to size were helpful. A small would have swam… read more on me, even though in other styles, a small is perfect. I love the color (industrial green) but I did cut off the zipper covers which are a hideous contrasting color. If they weren't the same color as the vest or something more neutral, like black, I'd rather just see a plain zipper, thank you. That's the only faulty design as I see it. The pockets are nice and deep and the fleece seems a good weight. Not sure how it will do overtime but Patagonia's quality is usually top notch so I have high hopes. Finally found my vest. Yay!

I bought this retro pile vest as a christmas present and my girlfriend loves it! Perfect vest for wearing around town or a light afternoon hike. Looks great and still performs, classic Patagonia!

Great vest - super comfortable, warm, and cozy! It fits as a pretty standard Patagonia outer layer fits, which is typically a little large. I've noticed it shedding a little, but nothing too concerning yet.

Another Patagonia Classic

Another great Patagonia vest with a vintage take - it is warm, looks good with everything, and super comfortable. It is a bit long but fits well, runs a little large so perfect for a sweater or flannel underneath.

Nice vest but runs large

I ordered this in green. Love the color and the fleece material, but the vest was way too big for me. The size small chest measurement was 40" (measured armpit to armpit). I don't know how they can call that a size small. It fit my 150 lb. husband! Needless to say, I'm returning it. I may give the XS a try.

Does the Patagonia retro pile vest not come in a small? What are the measurements for XS, s (if it does come in that), and medium?
