Perfect hiking, all-terrain pants!

I bought these, along with a pair of Kuhls, for two weeks in South Africa. I wore them for just about everything we did. They were breathable in the heat and great for the freezing cold mornings, as well. HIGHLY recommend! I'm 5'3, 120 lbs., and the 0 regular was a perfect fit, even in the length.

Ok

I was looking for some hiking pants for my wife and narrowed it down to these, and the Prana Halle Pant https://www.backcountry.com/prana-halle-pant-womens-pra00ex She preferred the fit and feel of the Halle Pant since she has longer legs.

Second pair of Patagonia

Patagonia pants do not run the same between styles. First pair was Escala and these were my second both size 10. they fit so differently Escala small and Quandary large. no consistency! other then that material is great.

What Can't These Tackle?

In the short time that I've owned these pants, I have worn them for climbing, backpacking, and even fieldwork. They are soft, very stretchy, and breathable, exactly what I look for in a climbing pant. They also dry very quickly (I used them for a river survey and was continually transitioning into and out of the water). Recently, I've gotten in the habit of grabbing them instead read more of my Kuhl Kendra or Prana Halle pants. I love the fit (they are very flattering), but think (like other reviewers) that the sizing is a bit off. I bought size 4 (the size I typically wear in Patagonia pants), but could have gotten away with a size 2. (Definitely recommend the Shale color).

Nice

I prefer these to the Venga pants mostly for fit reasons. Although they don’t fit me perfectly, they have performed well when climbing. I think to be better they should have a cinchable leg and have a long option. I am 5’10”, 145lb, long arms/ legs, average torso and I got a size 6. They fit me as well as they can and usually once climbing I don’t notice many fit issues. read more They aren’t my number one pick for grabbing pants to climb in, but have been a regular in my arsenal. Usual sizes: Carhartt 4 long, Prana 4, American Eagle 2/4, Patagonia 6

Love 'em!

I have owned a few pairs of the quandary and when I saw them in Pink, I just had to buy another pair. I have been wearing this line of pants for years, and I still use the original pair I bought a long long time ago. These pants fit just like the other quandary I have purchased and have the same wonderful features: great fit, no diaper butt, durable and super comfortable!

Great Hiking and Climbing Pants

I bought the Quandry pants because I needed some more hiking pants. The Quandrys are soft, slightly stretchy, and breathable. They are very lightweight and thin, but pretty durable, as well. They thankfully come in a variety of inseams and waist sizes. I am 5'4" and got the short inseam and they fit perfect. The sizing on these is true to size. They are a really flattering cut and read more look great on your legs. I've worn these on a few occasions out hiking in the 50's and they worked out perfect. Bottom line: I recommend these if you are looking for good looking, high performance hiking or climbing pants.

sizing is a little off but great pants!

I wear a size 4 / 27 consistently in all my other pants/ shorts (size 4 in patagonia shorts) and the 4 in these pants fit but was a little bit tight around the thighs and butt and a little shorter than I would have liked. I tried the size 6 as well but it was a little baggy and big in the waste. Good news is the waistband has a little drawstring so I ended up going with the larger read more size with the idea in mind that I would be likely wearing these pants with a base layer pant underneath and it layers great! I dig all the pockets and the stretch in the fabric is sooooo nice. Basically feels like wearing yoga pants with the durability of a heavy jean pant. Props Patagonia! My only qualm is that the pants could be a *little* longer. That being said, I am 5'11'' so all you more normal height ladies out there should be fine. DWR fabric is great for repelling sprinkles to a mild downpour and still keep my legs nice and toasty dry. For sure recommend these to hikers, climbers, and players in the outside. Just be weary of sizing! Overall, a great product.

Great!

I love these pants. Purchased in green and then went back and got them in grey. I purchased a size two and find them to be a little too big for me...Will need to get a belt. Overall, love! Very flattering, light, and water wicking.

Mostly Yay

These are a lightweight pant for outdoors that also look fantastic on for casual wear. I like the fit - generous through the hips and thighs, with enough stretch for easy movement. The length is a little long (I have a 30-inch inseam), but not so long they hit the ground. I like that these have a snap and loop so you can secure them if you roll them up in warmer weather. I wore read more these for a weekend of canyoneering in Utah, and I found they breathed well and weren't too warm in 80-degree weather. The one con is that the fabric is not rip-stop. While making my way up a narrow spot in a slot canyon, the rear pocket got some holes when my bottom skimmed a rock. While the holes are small and only affect the outer layer of the pocket, they have grown a little after washing once, so I'll probably have to replace these sooner than I would like.

LOVE these pants

I bought these pants primarily for travel, but I found that they are perfect everyday pants as well. They are super comfortable and fit well. The stretch is just right. A couple of things I'd note- the zip pocket does fit my iPhone 5, but it's quite "lumpy" due to the clingy fabric. I wish the pocket was a bit larger or at least not as tight. Another zip pocket on the other read more side would be nice for a map/GPS/etc. For sizing, it's really true to size. Following the reviews here, I bought a size 6S and it fits great. But it does stretch out a bit with use, and so it's a bit big after wearing it for a while. The drawstring waist helps alot. If you're between sizes, you may want to keep this in mind when selecting your size. A 4 might have fit better but been snug at first. The length of the "short" is perfect for me, as I have about a 30" inseam. I would like to get this in more colors!

Perfect fit for this non-perfect body

I wanted pants that I could roll up, had pockets including a side leg pocket, had some stretch to them and fit my not so tiny waist but still a size 10. These fit and met all my requirements for hiking pants. These fit perfectly and have just enough stretch all over including the waist. You don't need to have a tiny waist or thighs for these to fit. I am still able to wear my knee read more brace under the pants and the pants do not feel constricted in any way. The one concern I had was whether my Galaxy 5 (without the protective case) would fit in the right leg pocket and it does. Much easier to grab it out of there than wrestle it out of my backpack's hipbelt pocket. They roll up just enough to provide some air movement/venting on the legs as I did get pretty warm at first in them. I feel confident these will be perfect my for my upcoming Mt. San Jacinto and Grand Canyon hikes.

Winter Spring Summer or Fall

Roll them up for Summer. Roll them down in the other seasons. They are light weight, but can wear undergarments if you don't have a long down coat going from indoor to outdoor. I wear these well throughout the week. Bend stretch and just plain comfortable. I've had 2 pair for 2 years. They look brand new and I wear them weekly.

Great pants!

Love these pants! I am 5'8", 118 lbs, and really debated between buying a 2 or a 4. I finally went with the size 4 based on some reviews I read. They could not fit better! I am fairly straight from waist to hips, and long waisted. I consider the rise on these high for Patagonia based on pants of theirs I have owned in the past, and the higher rise for me is a plus. These pants read more come about 2" below my waist. They have a nice straight fit through the hips and thighs (no jodphur like curves) and the 32" inseam is a perfect length for me . I'm wearing them rolled up to the capris length right now and that feature works well and looks nice. I am 67 years old, so a perfect fit for me is not skin tight, but these definitely don't look baggy. Based on that, I would recommend these pants to anyone who wants a good hiking pant that will also work as town pants or capris. If debating between sizes, size up for a looser and more comfortable fit. Worked for me!

Really great pants

I bought these pants for thru-hiking this summer. When they arrived, I loved the fit and look and started wearing them everywhere. I am pretty straight through the waist and hips, and these fit me well. I have gardened, hiked, and gone out on the town in these. These resist water, have lots of stretch, but are very abrasion resistant. I will be purchasing more of these soon read more and highly recommend them.

Sister Loves Them

I got the Quandry pants as a birthday gift for my sister. She took them on her trip to Africa and she absolutely loved them. They offered great lightweight protection from sun and mosquitoes, all while being comfortably stretchy and breathable. If you're looking for a pair of pants to be active in, definitely check these out!

Best Pants I've Ever Owned

I bought these pants over a year ago and they are still in great condition. I would argue that they are my most worn pants for most if not all occasions (casual, work, outdoors). These pants are very comfortable and have great range of motion. I frequent these pants for climbing and the abrasion resistance of these pants are absolutely amazing. There is no fraying of the fabric read more that I can find. I love the fact that I can have the pant leg down when hiking trails to protect myself from bugs and plants, but I can also roll them up when I ascend a climb. The side pocket on the leg makes it easy to have a harness on and still have my valuables handy. Pants are also breathable and very water resistant! So when abroad, they are easily hand-washed and dry very quickly. Notes about fit: I am a size 0. However, at the time when I made my purchase, a size 4 was all that was left. I took the risk and am still happy with my purchase despite the roomier fit. The pants have an elastic string that you can tighten a little more if needed. I do need to have a belt with these pants due to my sizing up, but my legs thank me for it. The inseam hem is 32" and is a bit long for me, so I hemmed the pants about an inch or so and they are now the perfect length! Overall, I am so happy with these pants and am looking to buy another just so I can have another color. :)
