Patagonia Nine Trails 20L Backpack reviews and deals for sale

Move comfortably and confidently over precarious ridgeline hikes and through technical slot canyons with the Patagonia Nine Trails 20L Backpack. This pack boasts a lightweight, low-bulk design that won't hold you back on tough trails, but still offers the space to carry all the gear you need for a long afternoon trek.

The main compartment offers enough space for a hydration reservoir, food, and an extra layer, and the large stretch exterior pocket keeps your rain shell handy in case you collide with a thunderstorm during your adventure. Lightweight, tough Cordura fabric withstands frequent brushes with branches and rocks, and it's equipped with PU and DWR coatings to keep the contents from getting soaked in a storm. Compression straps manage your load to keep it as compact as possible, and the waist belt and sternum strap provide stability so you don't get thrown off balance when scrambling over boulders. And to keep your back from getting drenched with sweat on the ascent, Patagonia equipped this pack with a mono-mesh back panel that allows excellent airflow and prevents moisture buildup.

Love it, but handle tore within 2 uses.

Really love the fit and feel of this pack! Good size and fits everything you need for a day of adventures! Unfortunately, after only 2 uses the handle at the top of the pack tore on one end which is quite an inconvenience as I use it often to transport my pack. Otherwise, happy with it!

Comfy Daypack!

I'm a big fan of the Nine Trails pack for how lightweight and comfortable it is. It fits really well and the hip straps take a lot of weight off of my shoulders - plus the strap pockets are a great place for snacks. I took this pack with me while backpacking Mount Timpanogos and while it was super nice to have for my sunrise summit, it's not ideal because it doesn't pack down read more small into my bigger backpacking bag. Other than that, though, this is a great day pack. The mesh side pockets are big enough to fit a Nalgene, and tight enough that it won't slip out if you bend down. This pack also functions well as an everyday bag, it has plenty of room to fit a laptop, lunch, and some books or layers. From midterms to mountains, this bag's got your back both in function, capacity, and style. There are some solid color options and it has a very clean look. What I carried in the pack: Timpanogos Summit (full pack): crampons, nalgene, trekking poles, DSLR camera, an extra layer, a beanie, my headlamp, a knife, a couple snack bars, hand warmers, gloves, and a sandwich. Day hikes (half full): same as above, minus the camera and crampons. To work (half full): a notebook, lunch, nalgene, sunglasses, jacket, snacks, workout clothes

Perfect Day Pack

I used this pack for a couple of spring time adventures and it was perfect for the day trips we took. It had plenty of space and was very comfortable to wear and hike around in. The only thing i didn't care for was the material that the side pockets were made out of. If your out on the trail or trekking up crammed slot canyons this mesh seems a little less durable than the rest read more of the pack.

Fantastic Day Pack

Perfect for hiking with the dog (I use the large stretchy external pocket for double bagged dog poo). Also mountain biked with it. I carried 3 full Nalgene's in it and it handled the load well without any of the chafing the other reviewer noted, and I'm a dude with a decent neck/traps. Small internal pocket for valuables and lid pocket for quick snack access. My only complaint read more is that I cannot for the life of me get my Camelbak bladder mouthpiece through the hole meant for this purpose.

So disappointing - like a yoke collar

This should be THE pack - great size, perfect pockets (belt stashes, 2 side pockets for our phones/cameras, large stretch pocket for layer & water bottle, inside pocket for wallet & keys, outside "lid" pocket for kid snack, u-shape opening for easy access to all the other misc. you have to take to hike in the weather-mercurial PNW. BUT - the straps are ridiculously close together read more and chafe your neck! I couldn't believe it when I excitedly put it on, but then I asked the Google and sure enough it's a known problem. I even order the unisex style after ordering the ladies, hoping for wider placement but no, no such luck. Only 2.24 inches between the pack straps at the top. For comparison my Gregory Miwok has 4.5 inches (and way too many mesh pockets to catch on stuff.) The #perfectpack search continues... (Seriously, Patagonia, WTH were you thinking?!)

Goldie Locks pack

This pack is the perfect size for day trip adventures. Hiking with the dogs, adventuring into a new camp spot (not backpacking) keep your running gear for after work, short weekend trip to Cali. All those things you need for those adventures can be stowed in this amazing pack. Really fits a lot of gear without looking bulky at all!

Hello, I just received my backpack today. Is the black, hard piece of plastic in the back not supposed to come out?

What does the sizing mean? The length of the straps?

When you don't need the waist belt, do the straps just hang down, or can you clip them behind you comfortably?

Do the nine trails packs larger than the 14L versions come with a hydration sleeve and port? I like the 14L pack for mountain biking but sometimes need more volume. The H.A.W.G. is 17L so the 20L nine trails would suit nicely, if it has a hydration sleeve and a port for the hose.
