Perfect powder puff

Incredibly warm and light. Well tailored and durable. Should last for years. I highly endorse all their clothing and support their causes for our planet.

Nano Puff

Love the jacket. Super warm even by itself. Great layering for cold weather skiing.

Good weight and color but poor fit

Liked the look of the jacket. The body fit ok but the arms are too loose and long with why-bother elastic at the cuffs that is too big to keep the arms from drooping over your hands (pet peeve). Not worth the investment. Returned.

Another Great Patagonia Jacket!

This is my second nano-puff. The first didn't where out, just added another color. The jacket is warm enough for Wisconsin Springs and Falls- but not to hot when you have to wear them indoors like the grocery store. Love them for day to day, family bike rides on chili days or hanging at kids soccer games. With the Medium I can still throw a hoodie under it when needed.

Small arm holes

This was bought as a replacement for an old Nano Puff Jacket in size large. Size large is the correct size for me, but the arm holes have now been made two inches smaller and constrict under the arm pits. The smaller arm holes make this uncomfortable and unwearable. Patagonia has either made these unfortunate changes that will preclude me from ever buying from them again, or have read more failed to do the appropriate quality control at their factories. Very disappointing.

Layering jacket

Quality jacket, perfect for layering. Would not wear as a true winter coat, but great under a shirt and sweater/shirt jac.

Carbon should be called Evergreen

The Carbon Nanopuff jacket is a very dark green. We expected Carbon to be a variation of grey/black. Love the jacket not the color. Online Chat assistant was super helpful with an exchange in order to get a classic black!

Received wrong color

I ordered my men’s jacket in black and received industrial green. Shipping isn’t as fast as two days as it took almost a week.

Love the jacket, but..

I was so excited to finally wear it for the first time. Before I left I double checked every pocket for tags and when I stuck my hand in the inside pocket there was a huge hole in the bottom. I expect more from a Patagonia! I will stitch it myself because I dont want to screw with returning it and I am ready to wear it! However, the jacket fits perfectly, I prefer it over the larger read more down sweater. Its a great everyday jacket that fits perfectly under my shell for cold, snow, rain, or skiing. I see people complaining about its water resistance, but thats not what it is made for. I sprayed some water proofing spray on it in case i get caught out in the rain, but wear a rain jacket if thats your concern!

Melted Hole in Puffy

Melted a hole in my puffy on a backpacking trip. Patagonia fixed it. It looks brand new now. Wish I could upload multiple photos at once.

Disappointing Durability

Great lightweight puff in function and style. Surprisingly warm when zipped up. Was happy with everything until holes started to appear. Disappointed sleeves have worn through in under 6 months of casual wear. That's not a lifespan to match the price.

Yes and Yes

The jacket is perfect for 25-50 degree weather and can go colder if layered properly. While very thin and almost weightless, the jacket seems to have the ability to adapt to the temperature around you and make you forget you are wearing it. The jacket has such a nice fit to it. Perfect for wearing under waders in cool to cold climates too. It packs down quite nicely making it great read more for travel as it’s foot print becomes the size of a stuffed sandwich bag and weighs next to nothing. Such a great buy.

Never the right layer

Pros: Blocks wind well. Packs small. Will resist a couple minutes of light sprinkle. Looks nice. Cons: Not very warm. Not breathable at all. Clamy and uncomfortable against skin. I can't really recommend this jacket. Due to it's poor breathability, it has a very narrow niche use. If you're standing around, it's probably good down to about 55F, maybe 50F. Any colder than that, read more and this jacket isn't warm enough. I can't recommend it for physical activity, as its poor breathability makes it damp and clammy on the inside in just a few minutes. It's only slightly more water resistant than a cotton sweater, but is slightly warmer (though less comfortable) when wet. It will resist a smattering or a light sprinkle for a few minutes, but if it's enough rain to make a cotton hoody wet, this jacket won't fair any better, and it will feel gross and clammy against your skin. The only place this jacket shines is in cool (but not cold) windy conditions where you might have to have a light jacket packed really small. Otherwise there is always a better layer than this, and it's usually just a softshell. The cut is also kind of awkward: very square and a little big. If you're on the cusp of two sizes, size down. I'm 5'8", 170, with a 42" chest, 31" waist. I'm usually on the cusp of a Medium and Large. Mediums are usually snug and have an athletic muscly fit while larges are typically a little too big and roomy. This jacket is no different, with the Large leaving PLENTY of room, especially around the midsection. The cut seems to be for someone with a belly, if you know what I mean. Definitely not for athletic or slim builds.

How does the warmth of this jacket compare to the traditional Patagonia down sweater jacket? I have the down sweater jacket, and am looking for a lightweight, early spring alternative that can be worn comfortably in 25-45 degree weather?

Is this jacket enough for colder conditions with a layer underneath? Maybe 25 degrees and below? I'm in upstate NY where it can be really chilly!
