Super warm

These base layer pants are perfect for any day on the mountain. 20 degrees and snowing and I stayed warm the whole time. Good breathability for blue birds, too.

My lady loves these!

I got these for my Girlfriend because she needed a new pair long underwear bottoms. She really loves them and has primarily worn them on our Nordic Ski outings. She says they keep her really toasty, and have superior breathability. They are standard Patagonia quality, so I know they will be around for the next several years ready to take abuse.

Great Base Layer

These definitely kept me warm! They are soft and comfortable. They have a slight texture too and that is a plus as well. They are slightly see through though. I wish they weren't as see through. They have a slightly baggy fit. They loosened up as they day went on which was not ideal but other than that and being slightly see through they are a great base later.

Prefer the midweight

These are nice, definitely soft and comfortable. The fit is great, other than a little bit of looseness in the rear area. My beef with these is that they are starting to look very worn out even though I have only owned them a month. There is some pilling and they just look stretched out and bad.... They are also somewhat see-through which honestly doesn't stop me from wearing them read more to apres ski dinner, but it isn't ideal.

I am on my second pair!

If I could live in these, I really would. This is my second thermal bottom that I have bought from Patagonia (along with the top) I absolutely love them! A must-have when I go skiing. I sometimes will throw them on when I am chilly at home, or going for a run with my dog in the morning (and yes, the first pair are still in great shape after 2 years of torture). Super comfortable read more (so soft) and a perfect fit. Most importantly, they actually work as thermals and keep me warm!

Love for Capilene Thermal Weight!

So. I don't get cold anymore. The capilene thermal weights are GAME CHANGERS. im always cold and i've had base layers in the past that help, but never quite do the job. when i put these on, it was seriously instant relief from the cold. I plan on buying multiple sets of these because i wear them all the time. for camping, for big mountain days. everything. the fit is awesome and read more the elastic band helps keep everything up and in place. The material is a bit sheer so careful when you are only wearing them. people might see more than you want them to. they are soft, they are comfortable, and they are WARM.

Nice and warm!

Bought these for my GF. She loves them... uses them as a base layer skiing all the time. The only complaint she has it that they are ever so slightly see through so she cant't wear them as a yoga pant of something like that. Other than that she loves how warm they are and how comfy they are.

Great base layer!

These pants are so cozy and make for a great base layer - I can't wait to wear these skiing. I wouldn't recommend these as a stand-alone pair of leggings as they can get a little see-through where the fabric is pulled a little snug so something to be mindful of when de-layering.

See through!

These were soft and comfortable, but I'm returning them because they are see through! I was hoping to be able to use these as a base layer but also be able to wear them on their own. The fit was okay, a little baggy in the legs but not a deal breaker.

Redesign for the better

I own the previous version of these thermals as well as the new redesigned version and think Patagonia did a great job on the update. Another reviewer did not approve of the new elastic waistband however i think it was a much needed addition. The previous version albeit a super warm thermal would constantly shift down and sag below my waist. Often times showing some lovely crack read more if I wasn’t careful! The new waistband addition was exactly what these needed to fit well under an alpine climbing pant, shell pant for skiing or anything else that you’re going to layer these under. They rest of the features really speak for themselves. They have a nice grid pattern which is both warm but simultaneously breathable. I’ve used these skiing, hiking and climbing big mountains like Rainier. They are perfect.

terrible redesign

I had the expedition weight capilene bottoms for years, super warm, great product. The replacement is called thermal weight, they are now high rise plus they have a super tight elastic band at the waist. What for? They are really uncomfortable, will have to cut them at the waist to make them work.

I use them often, but expected better

I bought these because I am one of those people who are always cold on the ski mountain. I've tried so many thermals and decided to splurge on these hoping they would pull through. They are decently thin, but have a ribbed pattern in the material to help keep in the warmth. The only problem with that is in between the thicker ribbing it is thinner, and you can feel the air blow read more through them just when walking around. They proved to be a little warmer than all of my other thermals, but I expected better from Patagonia. I thought they would be toasty warm as soon I put them on. You know, the kind that make you over heat when you're putting your boots on before you get outside. But, they weren't. They're just decently warm, and for the price I'm not sure they're totally worth it. I hate to give a Patagonia an iffy review, but it's honest.

Best thermal undies

I was skeptical when I received these in the mail. They are so thin and kinda see-through. But wow are they warm! My hubby says I am cold blooded and that I need a heat source to maintain a normal temp. He isn't far off. I usually freeze in any sort of cold-ish weather like snowboarding, sledding, etc. Our latest trip to Colorado was mostly gorgeous weather but the last day read more was an 18 degree high! I bundled up in my new thermals and was good to go all day...even night boarding with moderate snowfall. They wicked the moisture away effectively, too! I wore them under my insulated boarding pants. I am a believer in Patagonia's thermal weight underwear! So glad I didn't return them.

Great base layer

Just wore these on summit day on Mt. Kilimanjaro and they worked great. Kept me warm for the long up in the very cold.

Warm and Comfy!

Got these as a gift for my girlfriend and here is what she has to say: A size small fits slightly loose yet just tight enough (I typically wear a size 4 in pants). They’re comfortable and keep me nice and warm.

Great!

This has been a great, warm base layer for the night and morning on camping trips. They comfortably and are a decent length for me which is hard to find since I am taller. Super light and compact for backpacking as well!

Wife Approved

I bought these for my wife before a long weekend skiing near the end of last season. She typically runs cold, and never complained while wearing these. She wears a small in both Patagonia and North Face, and she likes how these fit. One thing she mentioned is they're a little see-through, so be careful wearing them on their own to the bar after a day on the mountain.

Great!

These thermal weight bottoms fit so beautifully. They feel so comfortable and I can wear them alone with the matching top around the house or for warmth outside on my daily walks. I believe Patagonia makes the best products as far as comfort, fit, and advanced material.
