Not so Smartwool design

Great idea! wool leggings with wind shield front panel. They worked well for XC SKIING, but hard to fit over long Underwear rware due to the small waistline, which does not have elastic or a side zipper. The overall wool stretch was nice, but the front panel did not stretch for using on a bike. Also the windshield product ripped easily. The style was nice, the wool weight was perfect, read more needs work on front penal elasticity and waste line. I bought the next size up which just made everything else too large and waist line still too small.

Little stretch in the pant

I'm 5'2" 115 lbs and ordered an XS. When I put these pants on they fit, but there was very little stretch / give to them. They felt super stiff, which is not what I was looking for as a base layer for skiing. I had also purchased the Burton Midweight Base layer Bottoms and when I tried those on, they were significantly cozier. I have exchanged the Patagonia base layer for another read more pair of the Burton ones.

Creepy

These were very thin, baggy and not a comfortable material on the inside. Almost itchy. Couldn’t imagine wearing them all day as a thermal or for any reason. Just creepy overall.

Great Baselayer!

generally wear a small or medium. Tried the medium and they fit but were baggy. Going to try the small. Very soft, warm, and comfortable!

My new favorite base layer

I love these! Perfect fit, kept me super warm but not too warm, did not stretch out during the day. I love these! I highly recommend buying them! Extremely comfortable, soft, and perfect fit!

love

These are fantastic. So comfortable, so breathable, and cute too. Perfect base layer for skiing... or just a cute legging for around town.

Runs Large!

These run large! Size down. I didnt keep them but they seem like they would hold up well.

Cozy for Mom

Bought these for mom when she wanted to start skiing and I think she likes the base layers more than skiing! Wears them all the time now, around the house, going for walks or hiking, or during cold nights. Not too tight, but not too loose either; mom loves them.

Nice fitting base layer

This product fits true to size in medium for my 5’5.5” frame with 41 in hips and 29 in waist. Nice rise, not low in back like an Icebreaker product I tried. I have not used the base layer yet so can’t comment on warmth. My rating is based on fit and comfort.

Perfect Base Layer

I recently wore these for a long day of alpine climbing and they worked perfectly. They kept me warm in the morning when it was cold and windy, but were breathable enough to keep me cool when I started to work up a sweat! Not only do these pants keep you just the right temperature, but they fit so comfortably. The waist band is nice and big and the slim fit works nicely under a read more variety of other pants. Would definitely recommend!

Comfortable and great for everything!

I got these as a gift and love to wear them as a base layer during the winter. I walk around the city a lot and I find them very comfortable. They are soft and not too tight. They are easy to wear with other clothes like jeans or sportswear without feeling heavy or restricting your movement. I find them pretty warm for temperatures around 10-30 degrees.

Patagonia Capilene Midweight Bottom

I bought these to wear as a baselayer while skiing. I find that they are pretty warm and comfortable. They are loser fitting which is nice if you don't like skin tight baselayers. Would recommend.

great!

I these because they are not skin tight like most leggings. They are super comfy and warm for my purposes (sleeping in the desert in winter).

Light weight comfort!

I bought this for my mother who complains of being cold often. I have used capilene and love that it won't cook you indoors, but really helps regulate your temperature and stay warmer. Feels really good on the skin and won't chafe or pull hairs.

didn't feel that warm to me

5'5" and 127/bought the small, kinda baggy in spots but no big deal . I just didn't think they kept me as warm as I would have liked, but disclaimer: I am always cold.

Warm

These are nice and warm but a little bit on the itchy side for a synthetic baselayer. I am hoping they will get better with washing. Sizing is okay, a little tight in the waistband and loose everywhere else.

Smooth and warm.

I got this baselayer after figuring out that I react poorly to merino wool. These bottoms fit just right, are a little looser than leggings and are smooth to the touch, so I don't get itchy when I wear them. They are so smooth, that they fit on top of another pair of leggings for really brutal ski days or night skiing. Just what I was looking for.

Warm

I got these to use as a base layer and for skiing this season. They are super comfy and warm. The fit is really nice and the waist goes up a little higher which is helpful because they don't slip down with lots of activity. The colors are also super fun! They seem to be high quality and I am hoping they will last for many years to come.
