Park Tool VP-1 Vulcanizing Patch Kit reviews and deals for sale
Flats happen, but even the most careless pedaler wouldn't use all six of the patches in Park Tool's Vulcanizing Patch Kit in a single ride, right? The two oval patches cover up bigger holes, the four smaller round patches are for littler punctures, and the self-vulcanizing fluid bonds tube and patch together on a molecular level, which is code for "really well". Park Tool threw in a small piece of sandpaper, too, so you can rough up the surfaces for a better bond.

If you still run tubes, this is a critical item to have in your kit. These vulcanizing patches are the best on the market! The lil travel box is perfect to keep a few extra items that are worth having, I store an extra valve stem, valve stem tool and a couple clear bolts in mine.

It's a patch kit. Compact case, has what you need to fix a flat.

Nice to have. I use them mostly for patching the inside of tires after punctures or cuts

July 7, 2018More life outta that biscuit
I've patched and plugged everything from air mattresses to truck tires. This little kit works great on tubes and tires. The tires themselves can be a little tricky if they have a lot of the cord material showing on the inside of the tire. Take your time and do it right and it will last till the next tire.

I love the vulcanizing patch kits. The peel and stick are more minimal and will usually work in a pinch but I don't trust them as a long term fix. The vulcanizing kits like this one work really well, and always seem to be a permanent fix for flat tubes. It may be ill advised, but I have even used these patches with superglue, to fix small sidewall tears in my Tubeless mountain… read more tires (patch glued on the inside of the tire). I have done it twice and both times I was able to re-mount tubeless and get hundreds of miles out of the tire without issue.

Great little patch kit. Will fix a puncture no problem. Patched 2 up yesterday, went and rode today, no leaks. Thats about all you can ask for.

May 13, 2017Awesome little kit
Get a flat with no patch kit and you'll wish you had spared 2 dollars to be back on your bike, zipping down the trail.

March 19, 2017always keep one around always keep handy
I always keep one of these around. They do a solid job of fixing pretty good size holes. If you don't have a tube handy go with these.

March 3, 2017Good Variety
A nice set of patches. I hope I don't need to use it often. But, if I do get a flat, at least I'll have everything I need.

September 26, 2016So perfect
This patch kit is excellent. It comes in a nice little box, as shown which makes it easy to carry with you everywhere, even when you're limited on space. It's easy to use and seems to work very well, even as a permanent repair. I've been commuting for two weeks now on my patched tube without any loss of air.

September 23, 2016Good Patches
The patches work great and don't leak at all. The package is nice and small to fit in a saddle bag or pocket and not even feel it there. There are only two things I dislike about them: 1. The patches are honestly over-sized. I can see having one large patch in case you get a tear, but most of mine have been pinhole punctures that don't need a huge patch. 2. When applying the patch,… read more it can be difficult to remove the clear wrapper after application. Sometimes it tries to pull up the edge of the patch, so you just need to take your time and be careful. Otherwise they are great for the price, much cheaper than new tubes.

June 8, 2016Quick and Easy Patch
This does exactly what you want a patch kit to do. Quick and simple to use. Fixed a flat on my Mountain bike and no difficulties.

June 2, 2016All I needed was quality - Check!
Not a whole lot to say about Park Tool's patch kit, it just isn't that complicated. That said, lots of other vendors and big box stores have similar crappy versions of this same package. Do yourself a favor and buy this one; you'll get good quality tapered patches and everything else you need in order to get the job done in the field (or on the road). Very happy with my purchase.

May 5, 2016You can never have too many
We currently have 7 bikes at my house between my roommate and I, and hey, flats happen. You can never have too many of these little patch kits lying around. They are small, well thought out, easy to use, and best of all reliable. I order a new one every couple of weeks or so just so we don't run out. April 6, 2016Works
I typically use this kit when I have time at home to fix a flat. I use the self adhesive version while on the road; much faster for repairs on the road. I'd recommend it.

March 14, 2016Takes time, but long lasting
These patches take a bit longer than the self-adhesive patches, but seem to create a much better seal. Whereas the self-adhesive patches will get you home, they don't provide much more piece of mind, these patches hold much better and can provide many miles of worry free riding. Just be sure to follow the directions to create the best seal possible.
