November 1, 2020Gravel tire? No but a great slick tire
Even though these have the name GravelKing don't mistake these for some knobby tires that can attack everything from packed dirt, mud, to chunky loose bits. Yes 42mm will give you a lot of comfort and allow you to travel on some very basic "gravel" that a slick 28" wouldn't be great on but in essence these are just a very big slick tire. For me these tires are great for concrete… read more gravel, which is riding on bumpy broken tarmac. The low resistance allows you to get some good speed while running lower pressure, which means really great comfort. The 42mm version at 700g is fairly light but with the minimal tread these tires do need to be replaced a bit quicker than other tires. So if you understand that these aren't really Gravel tires and you are okay with that my only real complaint is that these tires are tacky (great for traction) but when fresh they attract leaf bits like crazy. I am 140lbs and I recommend using 50-60 PSI, 50 (slightly bellow recommended) when you want more of that cushy life and 60 PSI when you are road riding.

September 25, 2020My new default tires
My gravel bike was purchased more for the versatility and comfort fatter tires afford than the expectation of doing a lot of gravel riding, and while the WTB Byways the bike came with are great in almost every way, I wanted something with a bit less heft and rolling resistance and more road friendliness. The first outing on these GravelKings (650bX42) quickly proved to me that… read more they will be my default tire for any ride that won't have me on gnarly surfaces. They roll quick, add noticeable comfort and handle very well. I'm a new fan. Great job, Panaracer!

September 7, 2019Referring specifically to the 650b 42mm black option, are these tubeless tires? The photo only shows “TLC” on the brown sidewall, and the description only lists clincher, but a previous answered question and the Panaracer website suggests they are able to be used tubeless. Thanks!

November 26, 2018Is this really the 42mm or the 48mm? I haven't been able to find the 650bx42mm sk anywhere.

May 14, 2018The write up / description/ buying options are not consistent. Is this a 650B or 650C? They are quite different.
