Agreed with guy below me

These are amazing, stop thinking and just buy it. I bought one and now me and my boyfriend each have three. They are thin but super effective at keeping you warm and easy to breathe through. Love these so much. I use them for fat biking in the snow and so far I’ve used it in 18- 30 degree weather and I wouldn’t use any other gaiter.

Sorcery & Witchcraft

Don’t think twice, just buy it. Better yet, buy a few in different colors. This is a super lightweight gaiter with plenty of length. When I put it on, I immediately thought that it was TOO lightweight and wouldn’t be very good at being a gaiter. I was wrong. When pulled up over the mouth and nose, breathing is hardly restricted at all. So of course, the wind should be able to read more get right through...not so. I don’t know how Outdoor Research pulled this off, but I’m guessing there is some sort of voodoo magic woven into the material. Great performance, at a low price point...I’m probably going to order two more.

Really great — especially on sale

I bought two of these for the price of one during one of Backcountry's sales. I had to refrain from going back for more. These are nice little neck gaiters that I think would work well year-round. They're definitely meant for summer, but for high energy winter activities, these would work well to keep the wind from biting.

Essential & Easy

Really light and easy to wear neck gaiter covers San Francisco & Bay Area weather perfectly for hikes and rides and running. Easy face covering on urban runs (much better than my bandana). The fabric has good stretch but hangs just loose enough on the neck, doesn't compress when on my face. Like it so much I bought another.

Very comfortable and well made. Thin.

A really nice and comfortable gaiter for my big head. Has a good amount of stretch but it's pretty thin.

Great on the trail

These have become my go-to for face covering when out for a run or hiking. Very comfortable and super lightweight. I suspect I will return to using my heavier buffs with the return of winter though.

So Versitile!

I actually bought 10 different colors of this item because it can serve a variety of purposes. It's extremely lightweight and breathable, so easy to use for a variety of purposes - biking/running/hiking. I keep a few in the car to use in a pinch in case I forget sunblock.

Great for sun protection when hiking

Can't speak to the performance of this product in the cold (yet). I primarily bought it for sun protection. I live in SoCal and if I'm going to be out in the direct sun for more than 3 hours I generally need to get some kind of protection on my face and neck. I don't like to use sunscreen, this does the job instead. Can be a little warm if it's full sun, no breeze, and >80. Love read more the product, have four different colors, so obviously would buy again.

Buying Every Color

The ubertube is perfect for stashing in your pack while on a trail run or hike. It is lightweight, takes up hardly any space and is perfect for sun protection on the trail. I also keep one of these in my car these days for any and all needs. This fabric from OR is probably one of my all time favorites! Year round essential!

Perfect neck protection in the heat!

I love the OR ubertube. I typically wear buffs all year long, and this fills that same niche when the weather is so hot. The echo material is just about as light as a product can get without there being no product there at all. Works great to protect your neck from sunburn, keep your hat on your head when driving the boat or keep your hair and sweat out of your eyes. I'm sure I'll read more buy more!

No ra-gaits.

This gaiter is made of super lightweight and breathable material that has just enough structure to stand up a bit around your chin. It dries in a flash, which is great for ski days with lots of precip. While it's not quite as soft or stretchy as Buff material, it feels smooth against your skin.

Uber sweet

Great gaiter for all conditions. It's super lightweight, pretty thin, and versatile. I also love the color. Overall, it's a great gaiter -- though I will say that I doubt it would keep you super warm during snowstorms where it's dumping. good to keep the chill off your face going up a lift or while hiking.

Outdoor Research Echo Ubertube Rocks!

This summer-weight neck gaiter was perfect during a recent fall adventure in Colorado's Snowmass-Maroon Bells Wilderness. I used it to protect my neck from high altitude sun damage. I also pulled it up (babushka-style) to protect my ears from cold mountain winds. Photo below shows pal and me hunkering down to avoid 30+ mph winds at 12,400' Trail Rider Pass (it doesn't look like read more it, but winds were strong enough to nearly blow us off the trail!).

24/7 Comfort

While I haven't yet used this on the trail, I know I will love it. It's thin, lightweight, soft, stretchy, and breathable. I've worn this almost daily around my neck, and it keep my neck warm and prevents cold air from entering into my jacket. There are lots of different ways to wear it and I've received a few compliments from non-gearheads. The only downside is that the read more edges seem like they are likely to fray; they aren't hemmed. But OR will always replace any product no-questions-asked so there ya go!
