Outdoor Research Blackpowder II Insulated Jacket - Women's reviews and deals for sale

A perfect companion to the Blackpowder II Pant, Outdoor Research made the Blackpowder II Insulated Jacket to keep you warm and dry the entire mountain over. First off, you've got a 2-layer membrane to keep you dry, no matter how deep the snow gets, and every seam is sealed so not a single drop of moisture sneaks in. Next, that membrane is breathable, so you don't overheat on the occasional bootpack or traverse, but you've still got underarm vents to help you out—just in case. Last but not least, there's a toasty layer of AdrenaLoft to keep you warm when temperatures drop and you're stuck on the lift. Outdoor Research was careful to include such features as a media-compatible chest pocket, a helmet-compatible storm hood, and hook-and-loop cuffs that can be fastened to create thumb loops. There's nothing this gem of a jacket can't do.

My Favorite!

I have worn this jacket multiple times so far while snowboarding. I LOVE the brown color, it goes really well with so many colors, even my lavender pants! It looks really good and works incredibly! The synthetic insulation really keeps me warm and even if the wind is howling and it is snowing, it works! The 2L waterproof technology is perfect and works really well, did not get wet read more at all! I love the pocket placement, articulated elbows and just all around look to this jacket! I recommend it to anyone who is looking for the perfect resort jacket!

Perfect

This jacket is so cute. I typically wear a small, sometimes medium, in most things. I wore a large but only because I really like the oversized look when it comes to jackets. Otherwise, I would say this runs true to size. Super warm and durable. Love OR, they always do it right.

Perfect resort jacket!

Awesome jacket with nice features and awesome pockers for everything you carry on resort. Powder skirt as well as the pertex material keeping you dry while you shred on stormy days. Not a ton is needed to keep you warm, with the 40g of insulation. This has wrist gaiters to keep snow out of your sleeves on those deep days. The fit is regular and this is because it is made to layer read more if you need to or wearing just a baselayer and opening those pit zips on warmer days. The fit is true to size! Reach out if you have questions.

Great Multipurpose Jacket

I borrowed this jacket for a trip to the Tetons in late October. It was cold and I was glad I had this jacket! It is insulated but still low profile enough to layer. It kept me warm and I found it great for hiking around and still cute enough to wear out on the town to keep warm. I also thought this would be a good work jacket. It is sturdy enough to take some abuse!

Rugged, yet cozy for most winter uses

I really like this jacket! I have the saddle color, and it reminds me of a retro-style "barn coat" but is technical, moves well with my body, and keeps the moisture out! I have used this for hiking in the winter, and backpacking. I would recommend this jacket down to 15 degrees with activity. (Granted everyone's body is different) I found this jacket to be great off the mountain read more to the office, and it pairs nicely with a down sweater if you need to take it out in colder temps. Love the powder skirt, and soft, lined pockets! My only complaint is the bottom zipper catches at times, and you have to work it a few times to get it to go up. Could just be the one I have.

Cozy Like A Toasted PB&J Sandwich

I haven't used this jacket on the mountain but I did wear it on a cold night walking around Denver -- it was perfect! My favorite part is that the pit zips don't have mesh and they are super long for extra venting. It's a nice cozy lightly-insulted shell, but not puffy-insulated so it still has room for layering. The large is actually slightly too big on me without layers underneath. read more I love the saddle color with purpley trim, it kinda made me feel like a PB&J sandwich (in a good way).
