Osprey Packs Fairview 55 Backpack - Women's reviews and deals for sale
Packing to travel across the country is hard, but with Osprey's Fairview 55 pack, you’ll know exactly where everything is. No need to sacrifice comfort for space. This pack has just over 3000 cubic inches of space to stuff full of all your traveling essentials. When you are sprinting through the airport, your passport, map, or favorite book are only a reach away in the Fairview’s front mesh pockets. The Fairview makes it easy to pack along your laptop, too, in the lockable and secure sleeve in the main compartment.
The Fairview’s Lightwire frame suspension keeps the pack's weight off your back and transfers the load equally across the hip belt and back panel, keeping your back in good shape throughout your entire trip. The spacermesh backpanel also allows breathability, so your hikes will stay cool, dry, and comfortable. And if you’re just jazzed to get a quick trip in to a local festival or art gallery, pop off the daypack on the front of this pack so you only have to haul the essentials and not have to leave everything else dumped on the floor of the tent. Then, when it comes to traveling home or on to your next adventure, stow away the hip belt to avoid the wear and tear of baggage claim, and you can be sure that all your belongings will stay put due to the internal and external compression straps.

Osprey Packs Fairview 55 Backpack - Women's Reviews

August 14, 2019Amazing, Well Thought Out & Innovative
This is an amazing bag, and I was very impressed with its versatility, quality (seems durable), comfort and functionalities. It's like the Russian nesting doll of backpacks. First off, the first one has two modes: you can carry it comfortably like a brief case, with a nice thick solid handle on the side. Or you can unzip the backside, and hip straps and chest straps pop out like… read more a traditional backpack! Smooth transitions, no wonky zippers and a nifty transformer like effect! Very cool and well thought out. If you unzip the main large compartment (which lays flat giving you access to your whole bag at once), you will see a smaller day pack. How cool and streamlined, with the obvious function being a nice carry on for your flight and day tripping around town during your travels. Guys this is SO cool! With a decent amount of stuff in the large compartment, I can still add this day pack with some items in as well. If I had to pick one improvement at all, it would simply be to add more segregated smaller pockets to the big main bag. The small day pack has quite a few pockets including a large flat one against the back on the inside, perfect for papers and books and other flatter items, along with a top small compartment, and a main larger compartment. The main bag however really just has one large inside pocket in addition to the main space, which works well enough but I found that if I packed it up with toiletries, things went flying around and had to be fished for (I guess this is where it helps to have those packing cubes for smaller items!) Aside from that small critique, I have nothing poor to say about this bag at all. I fell in love! Love the simplicity and awesome, streamlined yet minimalist functionality. Go Osprey!

June 26, 2019Beware of the day pack
I have used this pack fairly often over the past year. The first time I used the pack was for a 2 week trip in Australia. The pack itself was good, but my issue lies with the day pack. It causes pilling on my shirts. I have tried to tighten the straps and wear the pack loose, it doesn’t seem to make a difference. On my Australia trip it destroyed a few shirts. I basically use… read more this back every time I travel now, but I don’t always use the day pack. I’m currently on another trip and have worn the day pack the past 2 days. I was careful to keep a hand behind my back while walking yesterday and spared my shirt. Not so much today, pilling all over one of my shirts. I don’t know what it is about the pack that is causing it. My husband also has this type of osprey pack and his does the same, so it’s not just my pack.

Super versatile backpack. Got this for traveling and the face that I can pack the straps away while on the plane and make it a duffel is probably one of my favorite features. I love the mini pack that zippers off the front, definitely perfect for day trips out and about and makes it so you have all in one and do not need to pack another small pack and take up space. I LOVE the green… read more color. All around suck a killer pack! Definitely worth the money and if you travel a lot I recommend! I am 5'1 and 115lbs and the XS/S works perfectly for me.

February 28, 2019Great pack for traveling
I gave this pack as a gift and have received great feedback: "I use this backpack for the overseas trips that I take. It's very comfortable and has room for all of the things I need. I appreciate that there is a day pack that zips off of the front. I comes in very handy during my travels."

June 19, 2018Fantastic bag for whatever you need!
I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. There's nothing I like better than a new piece of gear to put to the test, and the Osprey Fairview 55L passed with flying colors! I tried it out in a few different scenarios and was impressed every time with what this bag can do: Car Camping: The first weekend I had this bag, I took it camping… read more for the weekend. I was able to pack for me and my two kids in this one bag and that includes everything from diapers to puffy coats and beanies for the chilly nights! I love that the main compartment of the Fairview opens all the way to allow easy, convenient access to everything inside. The inside mesh pocket helped keep all our smaller items from getting mixed in with everything else. It was the perfect place to stash headlamps, toothbrushes/toothpaste, etc., making finding anything quick and efficient, especially at night! The daypack zips off and was a perfect pack to take for little day hikes as it held plenty of snacks and water for the three of us. Summit Pack: Even though I know the Fairview 55L isn't necessarily intended for backpacking and/or summitting peaks, I was anxious to test it out here too. On a trip to summit the Pfiefferhorn in Utah, I weighed this pack down with about 20 lbs. of gear to carry to the top. The hip belt distributed the weight extremely well and I didn't experience any soreness or fatigue in my shoulders from any strap pressure. The straps are very adjustable, so I was able to tighten them down to climb over some very exposed ridges without the weight shifting or my balance being jeopardized in the slightest. Your pack is definitely the last thing you want to be worrying about under those circumstances, and I didn't need to give this bag a second thought through the whole climb. Putting a sleeping bag or 1-man tent in this bag might have been a challenge but could have worked in a pinch. Travel Pack: Although this bag did beautifully in the other two instances I tried it in, this is where it really shines! While packing this bag for a 2-week trip to Lisbon, Portugal, I became increasingly astounded by its capacity. I laid out what I thought would fit in the bag, but as I packed everything in I quickly realized I could bring much more with me on my trip. I ended up packing more that I thought I could take - great because it means I only have to do laundry once on my trip! I was able to fit 4 pairs of pants, 6 shirts, 2 dresses, 2 pairs of shorts, 3 pairs of shoes, 2 hats, a swimsuit, 2 pairs of socks, 1 fleece shell, 1 down shell, 1 rain shell, 1 wool blanket, a camp towel, my laptop and iPad, wallet, passport, Bluetooth speaker, 2 water bottles, and a couple magazines for some in-flight entertainment. The handles on the top and side are quick to grab to cart the bag around a crowded airport or pull off the luggage rack of a public transit bus. Being able to zip off the daypack and throw whatever we need for the day inside is a huge plus and being able to tuck in the straps on the pack makes sliding it into the lockers or closets of the hostels simple and easy. All in all, this bag was convenient and efficient for travelling! If you only buy one bag but want it to do a little bit of everything, the Osprey Fairview 55L certainly deserves consideration. I have a backpacking bag, but I wouldn't really take it travelling. I have other travel bags (duffel bags and suitcases) but I definitely wouldn't use them for summitting and camping. This bag worked in every scenario - not just worked, excelled! I love this bag, I imagine it will last me a very long time and through many adventures.

February 1, 2018What doesn't this pack have to offer?!?!
The zip off separate day pack is probably the coolest thing about this pack! When traveling abroad its nice to have all your stuff together but when doing short day trips somewhere its so nice to know you can just zip off the front and take that around with you for the day and leave the big pack in the hostel. Making it into a duffel is way dope! I usually use that when traveling… read more in the car or through out the airport or train station. This pack is seriously the coolest travel pack! It is carry on friendly as long as its not packed too full. Good news you can take the front pack off and use it as your personal pack and use the rest as your carry on. Super happy with my purchase.

October 4, 2017" The other gals were jealous!"
I got this for my niece for her multi continent - post graduate tour this summer. Boy, was she stoked! I asked her how it went and all she talked about was how awesome The Fairview was! "The other gals I was with were soooo jealous! I love this pack!" Score. Best. Aunt. Ever. Leta Osprey Rep
