Soooo Comfy

This jacket is so stinkin' soft I feel like these images can't do it proper justice. First off, I love how ORTOVOX women's line fits our feminine figures as ladies that adventure. I grew up wearing men's clothes as a young snow sports athlete because clothes for women didn't exist. After wearing ORTOVOX women's line I won't go back or buy from anyone else. This jacket though- read more is out-of-this-world comfy. I live in Aspen, CO, and its great for throwing around my waist or in a backpack "just in case." You never know what the weather is going to be like here. Sometimes, I even bring it into town when I am shopping or meeting up with friends for a snack because it's actually super cute and figure-flattering. This is a staple piece for me!

WARM! No pockets...

It's a great later, the warmth is amazing without sacrificing breathability. I'm really liking this as something in between a thermal layer and a puffy in terms of warmth. The jacket fits large, I'm a slim build and find it's got a lot of room around my waist and the arms are slightly long, even in the smallest size. Not having pockets is a psychological game, I find myself reaching read more for them as they are on my other jackets and not finding them! I'll just have to learn.

Good jacket but serious durability issue

So I was pretty concerned when buying this jacket cause it didn't have any real user reviews anywhere. But I really liked the idea of wool so decided to go for it anyway. A gearhead helped me with choosing the size which also I was a bit afraid of because I'm usually S at most jackets and took the M. First impression the Jacket looked great, the crazy orange really stands out but read more in a good way, the jacket fits well only it was a bit long for me, but thanks to an elastic strip at the bottom of the jacket it holds well. The material is super comfy, not like any insulated jacket I've ever seen, just so soft, and in terms of warmth I would say that it is not a standalone for really freezing weather but it is really great for milder cold weather and for active people on freezing temps. Its great breathing abilities are felt the first activity you take it out with you. The DWR is good and sheds light rain, and it is really lightweight! With all that said, the jacket has some serious durability issues which makes me think I might send it back. After about two weeks of not much intense use I found out that my daily backpack back panel is full of tiny wool material, as I looked on the jacket I noticed that the back of it, where it comes in contact with the backpack, is losing its insulating material. I really wanted to like this jacket and indeed that was the case up to the moment I noticed it happened. I don't know at which rate it will lose its insulating material, but be aware that if you buy that piece this will be a problem.

Just like being a sheep

Ever look at a fluffy sheep and think how cozy that life must be? Now you can know. The Zebru is basically a human shaped sheep suit. It fits like your own skin and is stretchy and breathable so you hardly know its there, other than the amazing warm fuzzy feeling it gives you without overheating. It packs into its own chest pocket for easy storage in a pack or clipped off to a harness. read more I have used this from casual wear to skiing, ice climbing and for cold rock climbing and its a great functional mid layer. I am occasionally miffed when I want to put my hands into pockets and they aren't there, but that is quickly forgotten when I am wearing a pack and/or harness all day and I don't have zippers from hand pockets digging into my hips. I am usually a Large in Ortovox jackets. This one is a bit slimmer fitting than most and the XL fits me great. I am a full time, year-round mountain guide and a member of the Ortovox North American team I received this gear to test and use.
