Ortovox 185 Merino Rock'N'Wool Sports Bra - Women's reviews and deals for sale

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to wear a merino base layer, then throw on a less-than-breathable bra, so keep the goodness of wool close with this merino sports bra. The Rock'N'Wool offers cool, comfortable, and breathable support whether you're climbingwith friends or hiking with your dog.

Wicked comfortable...

...But just didn't fit me. I'm a 34D and bought a medium. It didn't provide enough boob coverage, and the elastic felt like it would be way too loose if I sized up. I'm bummed, because it's super soft and seems like it would be really breathable.

Soft and supportive sports (+ more) bra

Bought this for my wife and reports are that it's great! + Soft, supportive, super breathable and wicking fabric, not stinky. Huge range of comfortable temperatures from winter to mountain summer. - Bold branding and colors means some people will only wear under another garment. Not for desert hot conditions.

The Holy Grail of Sports Bras?

This is likely the best sports bra I've ever worn -- I've already ordered another -- and I'm very hard to please as I detest pretty much all bras and and generally want to rip them off after a few hours. I've tried virtually all the other merino bras on the market from various companies (including one that is named after a polar ship, another after a European mountain goat, and read more a third that implies intelligence) and still the search for the Holy Grail of Sports Bras continued. I cringed a bit at the price of this bra but decided to try it. It arrived and the next day I wore it on a 3-day winter hut trip. Super impressed. First, the fit is excellent. I ordered my normal size. No sagging or pinch spots. Second, the design is very simple (classic racer back), with no hardware or other bells and whistles. Third, it is very, very soft, with no scratchy seams or stitching or labels. The elastic band at the bottom is especially smooth and didn't start to feel constrictive or annoy me after a few hours, like most bras. I probably could have slept in this bra, it is that comfortable. Fourth, the merino functioned very well when I was sweaty on the approach to the hut (it didn't make me cold) and then dried quickly. And after three days it was still stink free. As for support, I don't really need much (think molehills, not mountains) so can't comment. My only criticism is purely aesthetic and a matter of personal preference. The super bright orange band with giant Ortovox letters at the bottom is unattractive. I'd prefer a more neutral tone and in general dislike conspicuous branding. I probably wouldn't wear this bra with my shirt off. I would LOVE it if Ortovox would make more colors and ditch the orange band. One last thing, I appreciate Ortovox's social and environmental sustainability ethics.

AMAZING

I am obsessed with this bra, which is saying something because I usually avoid bras at all cost. This one, though, is simply amazing. First, it's super cute and the colors are awesome. I also really like the cut of the bra -- not too wide shoulder straps and relatively low-cut bra, so that it won't chaff on your upper chest or look weird under a shirt. Second, it's incredibly comfortable. read more The wool is soft and light-weight. And, wool, being the magical fabric that it is, keeps you cool when you're hot and warm when you're cold. It dries quickly and is anti-order. I wore this bra for SEVEN DAYS on a desert camping trip throughout southern Utah. I took a couple dips in the freezing water in the Narrows and the Fremont river, sweat like crazy while hiking around...and this bra was perfect. It never smelt, never stayed clammy or wet and was so comfortable. I forgot that I was wearing it and was never uncomfortable. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars is that the sizing is a little unique. I have both a small and an XS. The small is a bit loser around the armpits, just because it's wool, but the band is nice and snug. I didn't love the small for high-impact sports like running because it moved around a bit, but the small was perfect for backpacking, hiking, climbing, etc. The XS feels a tiny bit snug around the chest band, but the wool also sits close the chest and is tighter in the places where the small was loose. I use the XS for high-impact sports where I don't want any movement in my baselayers. Also, if you're looking for ultralite and or minimal sports bra there are tags inside the bra, which could lead to chaffing.

Can Be Used Anywhere, Comfortable

I purchased this as a gift for my cousin that is an avid climber and she says it is the most comfortable and best sports bra she has ever owned, no questions asked. Super soft, super comfortable - blows any other wool sports bra out of the water. So far she has used it while hiking, rock climbing, chopping down a Christmas tree and skiing - and it has held up perfectly for all of read more those activities. She said the sizing is perfect and would not recommend sizing down or up.
