Love this PFD!

Purchased primarily for paddleboarding but really made the decision after seeing its fishing pockets. I would highly recommend this PFD for all day comfort. Had it on a few day trips and it fits great! Mesh lower back is comfortable and allows for breathability. 10/10 would purchase again.

Great for Kayak or Pontoon/Float Fishing

I WAS wearing a cheaper vest that bunched up when I sat in the chair on my pontoon boat. It was uncomfortable and bulky. The Chinook is truly a PFD made for float fishermen/women. It is comfortable, fits well and is designed to be worn while sitting down ...without bunching up and poking you in the chin! It has a nice group of pouches and zippered storage areas. I would buy read more again and would recommend this PFD to others.

Like a Glove

This is the gold standard of kayaking fishing life jackets. They say PFD stands for Prevents From Drowning. I say, Pretty Flipping Dope. This is thing is so comfy I forget I’m wearing it. The pockets are huge. If I’m using traditional tackle, I can fit multiple soft plastics in each pocket or a small hard case for lures. If I’m fly fishing, then my small fly boxes fit perfect. read more There’s a pliers holster, that’s rad. A rod holder for when I’m wading or tying. It dries fast, it looks great. I’m a paddler first, and angler second, so I wear PFDs. All the time. This one is by far the best.

Best fitting Fishing PFD

I just updated my original Chinook to the new one (I think it was 2019 that they updated?) Still has all the fishing needs, large pockets, rod holder, attachment points. But the new design fits me SO much better. The foam wraps around my body and it is lower profile as it wraps over my chest, so less under chin. I am big guy, so it still floats me really high in the water. read more (Oh, the little spots to hold your strap ends in place are pretty cool too.) Great improvements to already great PFD.

An Anglers PFD

I am an avid kayak fishing tournament angler. This is the best option if you are a serious tournament angler. The pockets allow me to keep all of my go-to tackle and lures organized properly. The main pockets will even accommodate my Z-Man soft plastics bags so I can keep my favorite colors ready to go. And I have used the integrated fishing rod holder several times. If you stand read more up and sight fish at all you will appreciate this feature.
