Nidecker Talon Boa Focus Snowboard Boot - Men's reviews and deals for sale

A breeze to tighten, incredibly light, and seriously stiff, the Nidecker Talon Boa Focus Snowboard Boot is a top choice for hard-charging freeriders and dedicated backcountry enthusiasts. Its super-stiff flex provides the support and responsive feel needed for stomping cliff drops and charging steep lines. The Boa Focus Closure System dials in a precise fit over the upper and lower zones, while the heat-moldable Gold-Level liner provides a custom, foot-wrapping fit with J-bars for greater heel hold. Plus, the liner's anti-stink coating resists funky build-up after sweating profusely on the mountain.

The boot's waterproof membrane keeps springtime slush, shallow stream crossings, and soggy snow from soaking through and compromising your comfort, especially on longer slogs and backcountry approaches where dry feet are critical to comfort. Conforming to the shape of your feet, the self-molding footbed keeps your dogs comfy from first chair 'till last call. This footbed also features impact-absorbing N-Gel Dampening in the heel to help you stick heavy landings without bruising your feet. Moreover, the B.F.T. (Barefoot Technology) Approach Vibram Sole offers next-level board feel and aggressive grip over treacherous boot packs and slippery parking lots.

Noodle in a week

Burton Flight Attendant + Genesis X EST The boots are comfortable, stiff out of the box, and true to size. I'm a 28.5 in mondo sizing, which corresponds to a 10.5 in these for a snug fit (street shoe 11). I swapped the insoles for Superfeet RedHot's, and added a little foam to my back boot to take up some extra volume in the heel. The liner lacing system is great, and the boa dials read more are easy to adjust, although I find I have to tinker with them more often than laces throughout the day. Unfortunately, these were noticeable softer by day 5, especially in the rear to the point where I can basically flex the boot over in a toeside carve. It's fine on groomers and pow, but doesn't work in the chop. Repetitive toeside hits in choppy conditions end up flexing the boot over, and I can't maintain the speed or control I want. It's only taken a week for these boots to feel like my old K2 T1's which have 50+ days of riding on them. I took a ski lesson on my last day at Snowbird, and after a decade of riding, I'm ready to switch.

The Best!

I work lift operations at a major ski resort in Maine. This has been my choice of boot for the last five seasons, and this will be my third pair. They have been fantastic in all weather conditions. Warm at -40 with 100+ mph winds, dry in pouring rain or bumping chairs in a spring slush puddle, and incredible grip on all but the slickest ice. The two boa system is great. I keep read more the lower section snug all day, but loosen the upper for working, hiking or skinning. The wide toe box is great; sneaker-like comfort. Snugged up, they offer a stiff and responsive ride, whether carving trenches in the corduroy, or slashing thigh-deep pow in the trees. Highest recommendation.
