Mountain Hardwear Kor Strata Climb Hooded Jacket - Men's reviews and deals for sale

The minimalist and lightweight design of the Mountain Hardwear Kor Strata Climb Hooded Jacket will help push you to new heights on your climbing pitch in times of cold weather. Equipped with a Pertex Quantam Air fabric, the nylon material is durable against abrasion from porous rocks and resists water to keep you dry and comfortable if storm clouds roll in during your climb. Harness compatible pockets allow access to your gear when roped up, and a drop tail adds extra protection while you're reaching far for the next hold. When you're headed back to the car or basecamp, toss it in your pack without taking up room thanks to the compressible Primaloft Gold insulation.

A simple jacket not worth the full price

It is a nice jacket, it just doesn't warrant the $224 full price. I like the Kor Strata material and this jacket will be great for the mountaineering season as a mid layer, or knocking around camp with it. It is soft and comfortable, but it is just the most basic piece as you will ever find, there isn't anything really worth mentioning, it is a stripped down Kor Strata jacket. read more No cinch at the bottom to tighten it up from any drafts, or the wind blowing, no hood cinch, no inside pockets, it has a hood, it has two hand pockets and that is about it. If it is on sale.. Sure, it is a nice simple piece to add to a lightweight layering system. I described it to my wife as the equivalent to a hooded sweatshirt, I gave all my normal hooded sweatshirts away because I wasn't wearing them. This is something I will wear and the material will perform in the situations I put myself in. Again, it is a nice piece, I just don't think paying full price is warranted for how stripped down and basic the piece is. I would say this is the replacement for the Desna jackets I have purchased in the past from MHW. Just a simple hooded mid layer, which were in the $150 range. But even then, those had more features than this jacket. I feel someone would be kinda disappointed if this jacket showed up and they saw how basic it is and if they paid full price for it.
