Stellar shirt

Super awesome shirt I have put through the wringer for day hikes, backpacks, scrambling, glacier travel. Just returned from an 8 day high alpine backpack trip and wore this for 8 days straight! The only downside to continuous daily usage was that the printing on the inside collar transferred to my skin, so my upper back was covered with screen printed letters - it made for a great read more comic relief in the backcountry! Overall, this shirt has been perfect for layering in all kinds of weather and excellent sun protection with the thumbholes and hood. I plan on buying another to have 2 on rotation. Side note: the day I first wore this I had to immediately remove the silly drawstring on the bottom. Not only is it in the way, and unnecessary, I find it quite unflattering. Women don't need frills. Just give us something solid to crush the outdoors.

Super light even on the hottest hike

Not sure how this product received lower reviews. My dermatologist suggested I wear sunshirts as I LOVE being outside but am prone to skin cancer. I reviewed several and decided on this one. Reviews on other sites are more accurate with what you'll receive, I recommend you check them out. The shirt allows a breeze through the material yet keeps the sun off. I wear my hat and the read more hood stays on better with that added friction. Plus the bill on my hat offers more sun protection. Do I sweat? Yup. Would I sweat in a tank- Yup. Can the shirt stink a bit if I wear it on a 20 mile hike up a mountain or two- absolutely, because I'm sweaty and working my butt off. Can't really blame the shirt. It washes great and doesn't carry odor after a regular wash. I bought three and would buy the last color but it's sold out of my size. The shirt does what it should and it feels incredibly light. After my first wear, I do not hike without one on- I'm a convert. When I hike, I use trekking holes and also use the thumb hole for greater sun protection. I've noticed zero fraying around the thumb hole material and I am leaning on those trekking poles coming down with as much weight as I can muster to save my knees additional impact. I hike twice a week, minimum, and have worn the shirts multiple times. The one tiny issue is when I catch the material on something (velcro would likely be a nightmare- hopefully I'll never find out). I've had two tiny pulls when I've caught the shirt on a sharp item. Not sure I can blame the shirt and it's hard to notice unless you're really looking. Note: don't layer up. Sport bra and sun shirt. Nothing else is needed.

Great sun layer

This really comfortable and light weight layer. I like the fit of it and love it as an option for sun protection. I do think the pocket isn't very functional as the material isn't really sturdy enough for weighted objects; maybe just a key? I did notice some fraying around the thumb holes after a few uses (not near any rocks or any washes) as mentioned in some other reviews. Also, read more I got the zinc blue color, which is pretty but it doesn't have the cool ripple pattern as shown in a couple of the images. Kinda bummed about that, but that's not a deal breaker. Overall, this is a super packable and nice option to keep the sun off your skin.

Wonderful!

I am in love with this! I was hiking in the desert for a few days and this was my savoir! Super lightweight, but full coverage. I got the light pink color and it looks just as pictured, I honestly couldn't be happier. It isn't see-through, it isn't heavy, super breathable & lightweight. The stretch material is also great, it's so easy to throw on top of whatever else it is you're read more wearing. The hood is also a great touch, it came in handy for some sandy winds. Since it's such stretchy material the pocket looks a little funny if you try to use it, but that would be my only complaint.

Not As Pictured

I hate to complain about something so minor but I bought the Zinc color because of the cool details down the back and on the side, and the one I received is completely plain without the graphic. It’s frustrating that the picture doesn’t match what you actually get. So be aware that if you want the navy color, you won’t get that beautiful detail on it.

Light weight and protective

Love that this shirt is so light-weight and protective, but do not love the fit, as it is baggy and unflattering. The tie in the front also gets in the way. I like the function of the shirt, but not style.

works well

I have had this shirt for one year. I use it for hiking, rock climbing; and have used it in humid Missouri weather in the 90s and dry 90 degree weather. It is very thin and works well. I also have a version of the patagonia sun shirt and columbia sun shirt but I never wear them because this one keeps me so much cooler. I did worry about the longevity of the product because it read more is so thin but have not had any problems with it. Sizing note: i have really broad shoulders and end up needing a large

Great in theory, but poor quality

The shirt is comfortable, lightweight, and generally cozy,, but it falls apart so quickly! The first day I wore it, the entire shirt fell apart! The threads around the thumbholes immediately wore out and fuzzed out after just 30 minutes of hiking. Then, during the day of climbing, the shirt ripped after grazing the rock by my wrist. I definitely wouldn't recommend this for climbing, read more but will keep using the shirt (after patching up the sleeve) for hiking and glacier travel.
