Marmot Never Summer Sleeping Bag: 0F Down reviews and deals for sale

Summer might bring mild weather, but it also brings crowded trails, so use frigid winter temps to your advantage and head to the mountains with your Marmot Never Summer 0 Degree Down Sleeping Bag once the temperatures drop. Stuffed full of Marmot's water-resistant Down Defender 650-fill down, the Never Summer is rated to keep you warm when temperatures drop to single digits, and its ripstop fabric has been treated with a DWR coating for a bit more protection from light snow flurries and condensation that might accumulate along the walls of your tent. The Never Summer bag has a basic mummy shape with an anatomic footbox to give your feet some extra room to roam, a Nautilus hood that cinches down tightly around your noggin, and a full-length zipper that's backed by a snag-free insulated draft tube to help prevent heat loss through the zipper. There are also internal stash pockets the make it easy to keep your headlamp and a small midnight snack where you can reach them.

Still very warm, years in!

This bag is great! I'm going on my fourth year having it now, and it still keeps me very warm on 10-15 degree (F) nights. I couldn't be happier with it. The inner fabric is soft and very nice against skin. The bag is lightweight and compresses well, leaving room in your pack on long backpacking trips. I recently washed it for the first time to restore some of the down's loft. read more I was nervous about ruining either the down or the soft fabric, but the bag held up and is now even loftier than before. Looking forward to many more years of warmth!

THE BAG WEARS OUT...

I thought I would have this sleeping bag to use for YEARS! I guess not. It is the fourth year I've had it and I am now getting cold! I've had to buy a quilt for the last year to stay warm. I'm in temps within the bag's rating. I did not expect nor want to replace the bag within 4 years. Disappointed! If you want a bag to last for many seasons, this is not the one.

Best Graduation Gift Ever!!

Years back, I was over all the freezing cold camping experiences I had had. Since getting this bag (possibly an older model), no more of those. Now I literally look forward to camping as an excuse to use this thing! It's like sleeping on a cloud, so soft, zipper slides easily. The orange flap near the top keeps my neck warm, and it can cinch down around my face on really cold read more nights. The anatomic footbox allows big feet (tall) to be comfortable while sleeping on your back but still stay warm. After six years of great use, it's still my favorite camping item in my closet, hands down.

Warm and comfy

Took this bag to Kansas this January and spent a couple of nights hiking the Elk River Trail. Temperatures were in the 20’s one night and low teens (almost single digits) the next. I would consider myself a “cold” sleeper and I stayed plenty warm in the bag with just light weight base layers on. Did not have any problem with the zippers snagging and the draft collar read more kept the cold air out. The bag has great loft. To quote one of my trail companions “that is one puffy bag”. There are lighter bags out there but those bags will also lighten your wallets much more. For the price point I could not have been happier

Winter Wonderland!

My wife and i took a winter camping trip to the Uintas, and this bag was an essential tool for staying warm(while sleeping). The temperature was logging in around 5 degrees, which by human standards is quite cold. Thankfully the Never Summer sleeping bag kept me and my life partner warm and toasty all throughout the winter's night!

Lightweight, warm, and compact.

This sleeping bag is great for late fall to early spring adventures. I am a big time backpacker so I needed something that will keep me warm on the frigid desert and mountain nights. It packs down to 8.5 x 18 in the stuff sack and only weighs [regular] 3lb 3oz, [long] 3lb 10oz so you will still have plenty of room in your pack for other items. It has a very durable non catch zipper, read more a foot box for extra room to move around, a pouch in the foot box to put hand warmers to heat your feet on the coldest nights, and down defender which makes the bag water resistant. I think it is the best 0 degree lightweight down bag in the similar price range. I have used it in some chilly nights already under 30 degrees, I was toasty in the bag with just a t-shirt and shorts on in the bag. I use it with the Sea To Summit Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pad.

Solid Option for Cold Weather Camping

I took this out for its first test run in 20 degree weather. The bag was great. Kept me too warm so i ended up unzipping it to dump some heat. Zipped it together with my marmot never summer bag so the girlfriend and I could share some body heat. The two mated together perfectly fine and didn't seem to be too awkward even though they are both mummy bags. As with any sleeping bag, read more make sure you pair it with a quality sleeping pad so you don't lose heat to the ground once the down compresses under your weight.

Hello So I live in the Pacific Northwest and I plan on doing some high altitude late season backpacking trips, im curious about the water resistance of this bag and then how well it can keep the warmth when damp.

Can a left zip and right zip bag be joined for sleeping together? This a must for my wife since she requires her personal heater (me).
