November 28, 2020Light and efficient
This jacket packs down very small, is super light. I love how minimalistic it is. It’s got just what I need, not too many pockets, waterproof, a good that doesn’t blow off when it’s windy. I love this jacket.

March 23, 2020Best ever!
Bought the jacket for i am now living in Northern Cali. Doing lots of hiking in the Redwood Forests and wanted a light waterproof jacket. The Minimalist has done the job! love that it is lightweight, breathable and flexible in shoulders and arms..This jacket will also be perfect for that spring ski trip..next year... when it is snowing mash potatoes in the high country! I will… read more finally stay dry!!! Bought this in a Wms Medium... perfect fit.. oh and color is Pink Lemonade! Pink is good! :-)

March 17, 2020Great fit and keeps me dry!
This is a really great quality rain shell! The Gortex is top of the line and kept even the worst rain out. I like that the hood stays up easily - and actually keeps the rain out of my face. So many hoods sit too far back or aren't big enough to keep my face dry. Also, the cuffs have a unique shape to them that covers the tops of your hands more. The fit is great too - looks… read more stylish, but my usual size had just enough room for me to fit a down vest under it for extra warmth. All in all, this will be my go to rain jacket!

March 12, 2020Love this color!!
Just got my Minimalist in the Pink Lemonade and I love the color!! I was a little nervous that it would be too bubble gum pink but it's muted and kind of peachy. Perfect. Love the fit. Plenty of room for layers, which is how I roll, but still compact enough for comfortable hiking and activity. I also really appreciate the fact that I can use this jacket in the snow! Just throw… read more on some snow pants and you're ready to go!

November 28, 2019Quality Quality Quality
Just received the minimalist jacket and pants. So impressed with the quality construction of these garments. Pants went on easily over my hiking boots. Plenty of room to layer, including a light down puffer. Cannot wait to put them to the test in Patagonia (will write another review when we return). And they still manage to be flattering! If you're on the fence about size, go up.… read more I tried the medium first and it was a bit short waisted for me. Liked the extra length & room of the large.

May 2, 2019Lightweight and durable
The only reason I returned it, is because I bought the Black Diamond Stormline and liked the cook, color and fit of it better. But this jacket is really great for the price, and the Goretex paclite material makes it a more breathable waterproof jacket!

April 30, 2019Watertight, and durable!
This jacket is awesome. It fit like my other Marmot jacket, and I can't wait to use it this summer for hiking, and skiing in the winter. Smaller hood, so it won't fit a helmet, but will do the job for most other activities. Can't beat the price for Goretex Paclite, and it doesn't feel fragile like other Goretex Paclite jackets. Its built to last!

March 12, 2019Highly Recommend!
Amazing jacket! I did my research before traveling to Patagonia and am so glad that I did! I wore my jacket yesterday on a catamaran traveling to the Upsala Glacier in Argentina. This is a great jacket and I plan to buy it in several colors. The hood is wonderful for both wind and rain. I highly recommend this jacket and plan to use it in Colorado as well.

It's beautiful and comfortable, I usually wear it when it's chilly outside. It keeps you warm pretty well.

March 1, 2019My all-weather jacket
I wear this jacket all seasons in wind, rain & snow. I just came back from a ski trip in Upper Michigan. We had temps from 20s, down to negative 5. I skied and snow shoed by just adding layers. Itâs replacing all my high tech ski jackets. Very comfortable and warm (when layering). Iâm very satisfied and highly recommend. This is my 3rd year of owning this jacket.

January 29, 2019Great, but
Jacket looks solid, but a "bun" just will not fit inside the hood (or the face is wet!).

January 15, 2019She loved it
I gave this to my wife as a gift. Her old rain jacket was on the last leg, and we needed to find something for everyday use, as well as backpacking. Perfect fit, and love the material. So far, the only test has been local rain, but we look forward to taking in on the trail soon enough.

October 30, 2018Perfect for Windy Days
I purchased this product for Fall/Winter in Iceland. The jacket was light and easy to pack. With the hood up, I was protected from wind and rain. The temperature was around 30 degrees with winds around 25 mph. The jacket was protective but I did need three layers underneath. It’s perfect for fall and spring would suggest an outlayer that is thicker for colder temps.

October 3, 2018Pockets fill with water. Camera ruined.
I was caught in a surprise downpour this weekend while camping. I put my small camera in one of the pockets and zipped it up. The pocket got a lot of water in it, so much I had to pour it out. The camera is ruined. I contacted Marmot about the issue and got no reply. I will never purchase a Marmot product again.

May 13, 2018Absolute YES
Obsessed. I ordered at least 5 different jackets before my last trek because I couldnât find one that wasnât an awkward short length and was still big enough to layer under. This was the answer. It even has pit zips! I love the baggier fit. Would absolutely recommend.

May 8, 2018Perfect Outer Layer for ALL seasons!
I bought this jacket because my mom has it in black and I love it. I bought the deep dusk. It is a beautiful color that pops when you're in the woods but isn't too obnoxious to wear in town. I normally wear an XS but bought the S so I could layer insulation under it for winter sports. I am 5ft and 125 lbs. I found it to be a bit long but the hem is adjustable as are the cuffs on… read more the sleeves. With those adjustments, it fits well with room for layering. Haven't had heavy rain but I know from borrowing my mom's that it is very waterproof.

April 3, 2018Love the coat, but......
THIS COAT IS HUGEEEE! For my fellow lean ladies, don't listen to reviews. Many reviews state that a Small was the perfect size for 5'4" and about 115-120 lbs. This is my exact height and weight, however this coat is massive on me! I would consider myself fairly muscular, so most of my weight is quite lean and I do have a narrow pelvis. Typically my shoulders are a bit too broad… read more for XS in some brands, but this was a very roomy fit on me in that region. Elsewhere, I was swimming in this coat even with a thick Patagonia pullover underneath (the retool in size Small--which is boxy on me). I can literally overlap this coat by about 5 inches still with a relaxed fit with a long sleeve under it. I returned for XS and I'm hoping that it is a little less sloppy looking on me even just for hiking.

March 12, 2018Perfect
I was looking for a light and waterproof jacket to wear, and this one is a perfect match for me! I am so stoked to take this on my backpacking trip this summer. I think one of my favorite things about it is how comfortable it truly is. It does not restrict movement at all, even though it is a slimmer fit. I will definitely be buying another color.

December 9, 2017Works for rain and wind!
I wore this for a 19 day trip trekking in El Chalten, El Calafate, and Torres del Paine. It was great in rain as well as a windbreaker. It folds up small and is light and takes up no space at all in a stuffed pack. I like that the hood is very adjustable and would stay on under strong winds. Also, it fit my down jacket hood without issue. And my absolute favorite part is that there… read more are underarm zips that you can use to ventilate when you still need it as a windbreaker but are getting hot. I think it runs a bit big; I ordered the medium which is loose without a jacket under it, but it's perfect for fitting a thicker down jacket underneath without restricting movement.
